Default International Roaming APN Settings

I bought HTC Evo Design 4g Boost Mobile and currently using in India with a GSM carrier. Got connectivity issues. My network operator sent me manual APN (GPRS) settings which is not working. I am able to access internet only through WAP. Quite often my data connectivity is lost. I get a warning "You have lost data connectivity because you left your home network". Dunno why this keeps coming up. Sprint provides option to Change Roaming setting to "ANY GSM".

However boost mobile does not show any option to change Roaming setting. There is no Roaming settings screen at all. Is Roaming in "ANY GSM" set by default?

Is there a way to uninstall/disable all BOOST Apps since I won't be using them in India? Do I need to root the phone? Most Apps keep running in the background trying to access net. Not sure if the BOOST Apps are messing up with my data connectivity.
