I really think that drivers are becoming more and more careless due to the newer advanced safety features that cars have in each successive year. This is most evident whenever snow hits my city, Metro Vancouver. We only get snow less than a dozen days each year on average and less than half the time, it actually accumulates enough to cause a driving hazard. You wouldn't believe how fast people drive and without leaving a safe distance between cars whenever we get heavy snow. It seems like they think that things like traction control and all wheel drive is enough to compensate for not driving carefully. I would trust the Google car more than some of the people I see on the road, especially in wintery conditions.
