In the U.S., the lack of broadband penetration and fast internet speeds has nothing to do with technology. It's just huge corporations with no incentive to upgrade their networks. I don't think it's a matter of time, so much as the Government/FCC doing something to create standards or create more competition (anti-trust). Otherwise, the lack of broadband will hinder innovation and the ability to deliver internet based services.
