I'm inclined to agree, it'll be a software issue somewhere; but I would've hoped that the factory reset would've 'reset' it and cured any such user configuration issue that I'd caused.
I'm sure some people would like to make a 'project' of getting their handset running uber-quick by delving into the inner workings, but I just want to use the handset to do stuff, I don't want to have the handset itself as a hobby! (I have no idea what Dalvik is or where I'd find it to wipe it!!
