thanks all for the input.

I'm still a bit puzzled by the views that tether is not a reasonable substitute for home internet. Tmob 30$ prepaid plan provides HSPA for 5GB with I think 15$ extra for a hotspot. Is it a question of tether stability, 5GB not being enough for netflix, convenience, or anything else? Just trying to understand. I really hate paying comcast 40$ for internet if I can manage without it...
