Enough history...

My problems are a little different. My loyalty to Palm was due mostly to the Desktop on PC, not the devices (altho I am learning that I probably took way too much for granted in terms of PDA/PIM capabilities like Contacts, Search etc.) As I migrate, I really do not want everything to be stored out in some Google cloud. As much as possible, I would prefer to be synching or copying to my PC and accessible there and on the phone whether I am online or not.
Is that how NoteEverything works?
Ditto on the contacts - I really want to synch to my own PC if possible.
It isn't clear to me which if any of the apps discussed do that.
Finally, the calendar posts all talk about 2x4 3x4 4x4. What does that mean?
Thanks in advance for any replies.

Well, you've luckily still got a few weeks to mess with it before bringing it back! The post about CompanionLink and DejaOffice might be worth looking into for you. Did you yet realize that the Droid doesn't do hands free dialing or place and redial calls thru Bluetooth properly either? I kinda ignored it, but now we've got hands-free laws in WA, sizeable fines, and cops looking for anything to write a ticket for. The Droid is a lousy phone, and a lousy PDA, it's a lousy GPS too. If your Treo is still functional, you can bring the Droid back after messing with it for a couple weeks, then try an HTC phone and see what you think. Check out Issues - android - Project Hosting on Google Code also, and do some "due diligence". I wish I had. (and I was wanting to get into "the cloud"!)
