If you like running your battery all the way down, look at How to Prolong Lithium-based Batteries - Battery University at the first line of the first chart. Compare that to even the second line. You about quadruple (and maybe even quintuple - it depends on the individual battery) the battery life by charging it when it's down about 40%-60%. Considering that you're using only half the capacity, that gives you twice the usage as running it all the way down does. Basically it means that you're paying twice as much for the battery if you always run it all the way down. (Even running it down to 3% is "all the way down" as far as life is concerned.)
