This thread is more confusing than it needs to be. Here's simple steps....

  • Navigate to /sdcard (not emmc as someone above mentioned), in Astro File Manager this is the Home/Default directory when you first fire it up unless you changed it in preferences.
  • Create a new directory and name it Pics/MyPics/Albums whatever you want.
  • Click/Navigate into your newly created albums directory.
  • Create sub directories and name them whatever you wish (Work/Friends/Vacation/BBQ)
  • Move your pics into these new folders.

Now all your albums should show up in your photos app. In the photos/gallery empty directories will not show up unless there are pics in them, so you won't see an album with 0 pics in it.
