Invested in AnyDVD and the full suite of Slysoft products, CloneCD, Clone2DVD, Clone2DVDMobile etc... It takes longer but I have moved over 3 movies so far with spectacular results. Each is about 1.5gb in size.

Avatar was full screen, 2012 was not, letterbox format but that was the source. did a kid movie for the kids.

We make backup copies of all our purchased DVD's, strip out the extra crap and use those to play on the bigscreen. Keep the originals in the original boxes on a shelf. Break, damage a DVD, just burn a new one. A lot of them are played as ISO's using a media player that fetches them from my main workstation's NAS.
