VZW may just be bad in your area. I would go to another carrier and see if it's better.
IMO, service is much more important than device. VZW was lacking in the device department for so long (glad I waited them out
) but now all of the major carriers have pretty good smartphone options, if I were you, I'd go with the carrier that had the best service in my area.
