I dumped my mp3's to a folder on the sd card called MUSIC.

I launched the player and it instantly found ALL my music!

I'd imagine the same with video. I have a few videos I encoded when I had my iphone, might be time to start playing with this

And droid supports a 32G card if you didn't know already!!!
