1)Shut off immediately once I pulled the battery while plugged in. Tried with the wall charger too.

2)A different battery wasn't considered as an issue. They popped it out and tried to hard reset a few times then said they'd send me a new one. Actually, the more I thought about it, they seemed pretty quick to give up and just send me a new one in 2-3 days. Funny that there's like a month backorder for the phones, yet they are able to accommodate my situation. I wonder if they were expecting some issues.
