I am able to put itunes purchased tracks on my g1. I downloaded and mp3 converter from here
http://www.download.com/Free-Mp3-Wma-Converter/3000-2140_4-10442362.html and then converted the itunes track into a mp3. I took the mp3 and put it into the music folder on sd card and then turned it into a ring tone with ringroid. I also checked the track with the music player on the g1 and it works fine although the artist info was gone but the track name was still there.
