What to watch out for, is after doing the procedure and the Over the Air (OTA) Update may be pushed to your phone by your network, or by manually "Checking Now" in the System Update option within the Settings (About section).

Its only when the update is installed that I started getting problems, but I just followed my own guide above with the updated ROM (found on XDA Developers) and I was away again.
