Default Rooting

Hi there, i tried rooting my galaxy ace (GT-S5380D). It is running 2.3.4.
So i put the upd_1.zip on my SD card that i got from here:

http://androidforums.com/ace-all-things-root/328648-galaxy-ace-root-gingerbread-2-3-3-a.html

anyways so i did everything it said to do, i went into download mode, selected update from USB, and i got this:

E: Error in /tmp/sideload/package.zip (status 7)

So i tried a different SD card and i tried naming to update.zip.. still i have had no luck. Maybe i need to downgrade to 2.3.3? can someone provide me with a link for stock android 2.3.3 firmware that will work in NORTH AMERICA or pls tell me a solution? thank you

This is an old thread you should go here: http://stoneboytony.blogspot.com/.

One of the thing that can couse you an error is your SD card. You need to format your SD card thru the phone. Copy again the files on your SD card run the c.c.b.s.f_v2 and then the root_v20
