Hi all,

I recently bought this device and I like it a lot but the battery is not doing as well as I read...

In stand by mode, at night and with apn disabled and no extra programs running, in 9 hours it takes 30% of the battery life, is this normal?
I have seen that camera process is always running, and if I kill it, it turns on again, so maybe could be this the problem? what about your acer's machine?

yap, same prob here, cant turn camera off...but i dont think that this is a big battery killer...media, does only take 2% during the day and i was listening to music a bit. lets see how it will go during the night..

Hi again,

I have done a hard reset and I have seen that now (without any application added) the battery is very fine (9 hours standby = only drops 10% battery life!), and I have seen too that the camera process is still always running, so it is normal and it is not the cause of my problem.

Now I'm installing apps and watching what they are doing to the battery life.

to make sure nothing is running in the background, press and hold the the home button for 2 secs (button with picture of a square on the bottom left). Then you'll see what things are still open in the background like browser, or android market, etc...

Wish Acer released some documentation of all the features of this phone because it is annoying some of the things this phone does and not knowing it is a hardware or software issue.

I believe the camera process can be killed all together if you get rid the acer spinning wheel photo widget

n1tro, thanks for the tip but the problem is on processes running, not applications opened.
About Acer: I hope they listen you!

My Acer now works fine, battery fine if you know what your are running, but sometimes it gets slow, how about yours?

Ever notice sometimes the light sensor (red diode on front top right side) continuously keeps blinking when the phone is on? I think this is a major cause of the battery drain ontop of any apps that constantly pulls data (weather & currency widget in my case).
