Default ICS apparently coming in April

Acer America Announces Android 4.0 Update For A500 And A100, Coming In Mid-April

Good news. It'll give me a chance to play around with ICS on my kids' tablet before my next phone upgrade.

I installed the leaked ICS ROM and it works just fine. If you can't wait (and I couldn't), it couldn't be easier to install from the downloaded ROM;

a) Download ROM
b) Install in root directory of any microSD card
c) Reboot with volume up key held while pressing power button
d) Let it install and reboot - without losing any data
e) Enjoy!

Is root required for this? I just got mine a few weeks ago and not really ready to root it just yet. I usually give my android devices a few months before breaking their warranties. Lol

One of the other Acer/Android forums said something about April 27th for the US and May 3rd for Canada, based on some sort of support chat log and previous press releases from Acer...

Thanks,

I downloaded ICS yesterday and flashed it with no problems.

I have had no problems so far and it seems to run great on the A100

Default How/When can we get official ICS for

The official release of ICS happened on 27-Apr-2012. How/when can we expect an upgrade for the Gen2 tablets. My research found that many Gen1 tablets have already been upgraded via OTA updates.

Have an A100 and A500 - both are Gen 2, both updated yesterday in the morning.
