Default update failure

Hi,
I have a rooted Acer a100 and am having trouble with Ics update. It downloads the 188mb file, then reboots. I get the green android with the clogs turning, then the clogs change to a '!' Symbol. It hangs for about 30 secs then reboot with update filed message.

Any help out there or are there any update logs i could look at to help me.

This morning I had the 19 meg update waiting for me which I installed.
After that I had to check for system updates and the 165 meg ICS download was available. It's installing now!

It's now the 28th and I just got home from work.
I went to check on the updates and now I get the following:
"NETWORK COVERAGE
Network coverage is currently poor. Please move to a location with better coverage to continue."

#1 I have never gotten that message before.
#2 I am sitting 12" away from my wireless router! WITH FULL BARS!!!

I got tired of seeing that "network bad" notice so I decided to do a reset.
Now I do not get that notice anymore but when I click on "update" I get...
Up to date (3.2)
What happened to 4.0??????????/

Mine was running Acer_A100_2.007.04_COM_GEN1 from previous official OTA updates but was having the same problem as the poster had when a recent OTA update came a couple of days ago.

But I didn't want to factory reset the device so I tried the method here:
xda-developers - View Single Post - ICS OTA update?

It works like a charm and my device is running ICS now!
