How do I move apps to the SD card, I also have super box pro
But can't figure it out.
On my HTC EVO I do it through the app settings and there is a tab that reads "move to SD"

Doesn't work, I honestly don't think that this tab, or maybe ICS won't let you move apps to the external SD card.

Seem when I look at my files in Astro, that it is considering the internal memory as a SD card...I have internal and external SD. Guessing that maybe Apps2SD does not work if there are 2 options. I have not been able to figure it out.

That said, I am nowhere close to needing too. 16gig of space on the internal is more than I need.

Default Acer a200 cannot move apps to SD card

I am having the same problem. I have the Acer A200 and a 16gb card. In applications it says my program is not using any SD card space.

@Loch: I have a Samsung Exhibit II that has 1gb internal memory and 2gb SD card internal. When I put in a real SD card it moves apps to the SD card. It is also listed as external_sd

INSTALLING CLOCKWORKMOD (CWM)

Download the cwm.zip---------> (Thanks to Jazzette for this from her icarus 1.1 guide)

make sure usb debugging is turned on (menu button, settings, applications, development, usb debugging)

boot your phone into debug mode (fastboot) press, in order, VOLUME ROCKER DOWN+END (HANG UP)+ POWER. your phone will stay at the huawei screen. attach to pc using usb cord.

open the cwm.zip and extract the files
open the cwm folder
open the following files (you may see the dos box open briefly, this shows it worked all file are labeled according to os, choose for your os)

adb
fastboot
install recovery

unplug your phone from the pc and remove the battery for ten seconds.

boot to cwm VOLUME ROCKER UP+CALL BUTTON+POWER

you should see a black screen with green text. you now have cwm

Unless you have 1000 or more apps installed, or a severely defective app installed, it is unlikely that apps are using up most of your 16GB internal storage. What is more likely happening is that the Iconia ICS GPS driver is leaking files in the /data/gps folder, and just wasting all of that storage. If you use the GPS frequently, this is most likely the cause. You can clear the space by performing the Factory data reset, or by rooting the the tablet and deleting the files manually. The problem and options are discussed in these posts: Rollback from ICS? and Clearing Cache - what does it do.

In your two posts above you imply that 4GB uses most of 12GB. When you buy a 16GB device, you are really buying one that has approximately 12GB free for user data. The two GPS apps you note as using a total of 4GB combined use only about a third of that available 12GB amount. That leaves approximately 8GB free, which means that nearly 66% of the total available user space remains available.

Most apps don't use that much space. I count about 160 apps installed on my tablet with total internal storage use by the apps being less than 800MB. If you were to add that amount to your usage, then you would still have 50% free.

My other storage use is all in the form of files that I can move to external SD or USB storage as needed.

Everyone has different usage habits though, so your storage needs may be higher for any number of perfectly good reasons. The point of my previous post was (and is) that if you want more free space, you can probably clean up the storage to remove waste and get more actual value from what you purchased, and possibly reduce the need for more drastic solutions.

If you are using the internal GPS with ICS 4.0.3, and you have not cleaned up the files that are being leaked into /data/gps, then you probably have a significant amount of space wasted on your device. It seems likely that you are using the GPS because you stated that you have at least two GPS apps installed. If you clean up the waste, and then still run short of free space, and do not wish to reduce the amount of installed apps or data on the device, then you can either buy a device with more internal storage, or look over at xda at this procedure for increasing internal storage by mounting a 32GB external SD card on /data/media: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=20907592#post20907592. The procedure was written for an a100, but should work on any rooted Iconia.

i have 2 gps apps installed. becuase right now. the main one i really want to use. doesnn't work. i finally got it to work on my bionic phone running 4.04. but still no luck running on the acer tablet. therefore, the second gps app.

my aunt is using her tablet for books for herself. i've downloaded amazon kindle and nook apps for her. and games for the grandkids. and yes she's almost filled up the internal memory.

what's the point of having a sd card if you can't use the darn thing. neither my phone nor the tablet has the capability of moving apps to sd card. although i can make some use of the card on my phone. it's basically doing nothing but collecting dust in her tablet.

in either case. those gps apps are taking up space that used to reside on the sd card. my phone only has 8 gigs internal.

It is a good practice to free up internal storage space by removing apps, books, and any other files that are not being used. Also, if an app does not work on a given device, there seems to be little point in keeping it installed.

that would be like saying giving up an one of the most popular gps apps. that pretty much works on all other devices. for the most part.

and it's my aunts tablet. i can't be around to hold her hand. to keep freeing up memory for whatever she does or doesn't use.
