Default Puting movies on microSD on A500

I'm going on a trip in a month and want to have some movies on my tablet so I don't have to take my laptop. I literally know nothing about it. I bought a 16GB micro sd card in hopes of storing some movies on there. Can someone please walk me through what to do? I would be so greatful! Thanks!!

Thumbs up

If you put the card in your A500 and connect it to your computer via micro USB. Your computer should auto start the explorer (in windows), then navigate to the external SD card (I think it's called) and copy the files over and disconnect from the computer.

You should then be able to just play the files... I haven't actually done it, but I would have imagined that the movie player should just locate the files... if not, then you may need to navigate to the files, but you should be able to do that using any of the free file explorers on the market

I have not really done too much with my tablet yet, but there was some discussion on this not too long ago (in Does 1080HD videos play on iconia?)

I think that the following (a post taken from the above mentioned thread) should help you out:

I use Brorsoft Video Converter to help me complete the conversion task. Why I use that app because of its pre-setted profiles for A500, including the “Acer Iconia Tab A500 H.264 Video(*.mp4)”, “Acer Iconia Tab A500 HD 720p(*.mp4)” and “Acer Iconia Tab A500 Full HD 1080p(*.mp4)”. The conversion become really easy for me. I'm a computer klutz actually.
Hope that's of some help!!

If you need/want to convert files externally, so they are Android ready, Handbrake has recently added two Android profiles to their encoder (Mid and High profile). Seems to work good and reduced my 19GB copy of Avatar w/DTS to a 2channel MP4 @ 2 GB in size, that looked/sounded awesome on my a500 and my Galaxy Nexus.

I encountered a similar issue. I have an Acer Iconia a501 Tablet ( unlocked) . I successfully put all the Star Wars Episodes on a 32GB MicroSD card and then plugged it into my tablet and Neither ACER video or Astro picked up the videos files. The tablet did pick up that the USB was plugged in and that the MicroSD card had information on it.... maybe I am doing something wrong ?
