Hey there, I'm new to this forum...
I just bought a Acer Liquid E. First Android phone for me. Im generally computer literate as a user but not as a programmer, etc.
My question is, Can you connect to the internet via a USB cable and your regular household internet connection? that is, NOT tethering, and not signing on to a data plan through my wireless carrier.
I was able to connect to the market etc when i got a 'day pass' from my carrier. however i dont really need a data plan for my use but would like some downloads from the market from time to time. Thats why i want to use my computers regular internet connection.
That is my main question/issue with android so far.
However, I am also not able to 'sync' this phone with my outlook 2003 through acer sync. The acer software fails upon attempts to sync, and says the software is not properly installed, and to reinstall. Which I have done soooo many times now.
I did try another sync software that was quite popular called MyPhoneExplorer. This failed as well with a message saying > device not connected, however it was. Repeated attempts failed.
Those are my two issues any help would be greatly appreciated!

I have a feeling that i need to change the settings maybe somewhere in the phone, but have no clue...
And YES, it does say that the USB is connected on the phone, and i have managed to transfer information and music to the MICROSD card via USB.
Thanks!
