Honestly, I wouldn't count on it. The Liquid A1 shipped with Donut and received one update (Eclair). I am guessing that all the Liquid E will get is Froyo. Our best bet would be to wait until the modding community has a stable Gingerbread build with all hardware working or wait until the Liquid Metal receives a Gingerbread update which can be easily ported (like the stock Metal ROM was)

acer liquid e most likely will not be getting anymore upgrades after froyo 2.2

I was talking to a rep at Rogers yesterday, and he says that Gingerbread will likely be the last update that the Liquid E gets. He says its 4-6 weeks away in North America.

Hi, this is Rogers_Chris, part of the social media team at Rogers. I just wanted to make it clear that the availability of an OS is up to the device manufacturer. As soon as a manufacturer makes the OS available to us for testing, it will be made released to customers as appropriate.

As of this time, we don't have any information on an update to the Acer Liquid E.
