Sad Acer Liquid E Wall Charger

I bought the Acer Liquid E last January (2010) through Fido, unfortunately, the wall charger is no longer working so I'm unable to charge the phone battery. Fido doesn't seem to sell Acer smartphones or accessories any more so I'm stuck as to where I can obtain a charger. I've found a few companies in the U.S. that cell chargers that are supposedly compatible with the Acer Liquid E charger but it could take up to 2 weeks to receive it through the mail (I've checked eBay as well, same situation).

Does anyone know if it's possible to purchase a charger locally, I live in Ottawa, or if there is a Canadian company that sells Acer smartphone wall chargers or compatible ones? I can't use my phone until I purchase a charger so it's huge problem.

You can charge your phone off any USB port on a PC or a laptop.

Any charger that has the right end on it, or a place to plug in the USB cable should work... there should be literally hundreds of options.

Hi Thor, Thanks for your reply. As Iíve discovered not all Android phones chargers and cables are compatible with each other, some require a micro USB cable and others a mini USB cable. The micro USB cable isnít compatible with the Acer Liquid cell phone. In my case, the charger was working but the cable had been damaged so all I needed to replace was the mini USB cable. I went into a Fido store in Billings Bridge Plaza (Ottawa) last week and the person I spoke to was very helpful. He tested the charger and apparently, the charger itself was still working but the cable was damaged. Fido stores no longer carry the cables for Acer cell phones but he told me that I could obtain a mini USB cable from the electronics store, which was just a few stores down (The Source Ė an electronics store). He told me to make sure I purchased the MINI USB cable and not the MICRO USB charger; the micro USB charger is not compatible with the Acer Liquid E, I've noticed several cell phone accessory websites stating otherwise. Now if the charger itself had been damaged Iím not sure whether Fido would have been able to order it or not.

Originally, I had spoken to someone at Fido customer service and he told me that he didnít think Fido carried Acer accessories; this is why I believed that I wouldnít be able to purchase a charger or cable from them. This wasnít the case however.

Hi HustlinDaily, Thanks for your reply. This is pretty much was I was looking for, except it turned out that the charger for my phone was fine and it was just the cable that was damaged. A lot of the charge/cable combos I was looking at didnít allow the charger to be disconnected from the cable and I didnít realize at the time that the Acer Liquid E is only compatible with the mini USB cables.
