Notsure Acer Stream support

Hi All,

Does anybody have any information on the Acer Stream supporting Froyo or rooting?

I have googled etc but only come up with Acer Liquid.
I'm not sure how old it is in the rest of the world but in Australia it only just came out at the start of November.

I realise its pretty new but wondering if any ideas?

Hanging to try 2.2.

Thanks

Welcome to Android Forums, roger_ramjet.

I've moved your question to the Acer Stream area for you.

It appears that users of that device are awaiting root so that Froyo ROMs will eventually become available.

I know how you feel, as the Fascinate I own is rooted, but a 2.2 ROM is still in the works (as we don't anticipate 2.2 for our device until after the first of the year).

Good luck. Be patient.

Hi,

Thanks for the welcome. I can be patient no worries. Just probably not patient enough to wait a year for Acer to do it ;-)

I heard that the Androot app can root the Stream. Any ideas if this is so?

Thanks again.

Hey can you please flash the Froyo ROM and provide a dump- [ROM] Froyo Rom For Acer Stream - Android @ MoDaCo

Instructions on how to create a system dump here (don't know if it is correct for Stream Froyo, maybe make a post in that thread and somebody can walk you through it)- How to dump system and boot from a standard device - Android @ MoDaCo

Thanks.
