drag superuser.apk out of the "One Click Root for SCH-R720" folder,
and onto your SD card.
and install superuser.apk onto your phone, before you root through the pc.

*~*~**~*~*
and after you Run the:
One Click Root for SCH-R720 Run.bat file.....

Get Root Checker...to verify root access and BusyBox installation.
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.joeykrim.rootcheck&hl=en

Get busybox from this installer (it has alot of versions to choose from)
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.jrummy.busybox.installer&feature=re

***install busybox to the system/xbin directory***

***if root checker says busybox is not installed or you get a busybox error,
just install another version of busybox until root checker give you the A-Ok.

Did you drag superuser.apk right from the One Click Root folder and install it from your sdcard?
or did you install superuser from the market ?
(some people are having problems with the newer version from the market)

here is the superuser.apk right from the One Click Root folder..
unzip then drag superuser.apk to your sd card, install it,
then run the oneclickroot run.bat while your phone is connected and usb debugging is on.

just a thought:
(p.s.) leave the original copy of the superuser.apk in the one click root folder.
(maybe when you dragged it to your sd card it removed it from the folder instead of copy it.)

Default Samsung Admire rooted but can't delete bloatware

So I rooted my Admire earlier and downloaded the Android Mate app to delete some bloatware. I gave it superuser permission and after attempting to delete google books 5 times it kept saying it was deleted but I could still see it in the /system/app directory. So then I tried using Root Explorer but it tells me that I can't because the file is read only. Can someone help me out here? I know I'm rooted and have superuser installed so why can't I delete the bloatware?

Mount as R/W in root explorer (little button on the top of the screen right of center), you also need to reboot after removing a system app to get it to quit showing in some places

Default So, new Admire, Root not working.

Kay, SOOOO, I had cried to corporate, got a new phone. HOWEVER, when I had gotten home, I tried rooting my new phone, and got:

[1] Segmentation Fault app_process /dev

and then my root fails. Help anyone?

Also, I need help getting 3G again, because I know have 1X, not 3G. It's a little upsetting.

I've gotten my phone rooted, USB debugging was on, I just installed superuser, updated thebinary, and it moved su to xbin and downloaded busybox. Everything is working fine. However no 3G, can you explain how to update the PRL? I tried *228, to update the roaming list. That didn't work.

Cool

I copied this from locklady and just fixed this up.

Very cool, im so glad to see its working for others as well as it is for me. Id swear my battery is even lasting longer, lol If anyone needs it >>>--> Here is a little guide to help install the 3024.prl file to a phone The person who wrote the instructions i followed has a LG optimus m. and I have a Samsung Admire SCH-r720. and this worked for me.
1. Download USB driver and install on your computer
2. Download 3024.prl
3. Download and install QPST 2.7
4. You will also need your Spc code. Your Spc code can be obtained by putting your MEID either here MEID Converter - http://www.meidconverter.com/. ***Now Make sure USB debugging on phone is enabled***
5. Connect phone to computer
6. Open device manager expand ports and make note of what COM port your USB device is on
7. -Open up QPST configuration- If COM port is not shown, select add port and enter COM# (# being the one seen in device manager) then
8. -Open up Service Programming- (phone must be selected to continue) On the main menu setting tab click read from phone. It will ask for your SPC code(enter it) then it will obtain the phone info.
9. Look for roam tab and there will be an option under preferred roaming to search for new prl. locate it(3024.prl) and select write.

Same thing happened with me 2 days ago. After you get the phone on, you go to market and install SuperUser, then hit the menu button (in SU) click preferences, and then update binary. SU will then install everything, and you will be rooted.

So I solved it by:
dragging the older version superuser.apk out of the "One Click Root for SCH-R720" folder,
(from page 1) onto my SD card and installed it.
now all is back to normal

If you saved or find a previous version of superuser.apk it should work.
so if i wanted to do this how would i do it? i click on the f drive and it says insert disk.....how do i access my sd card?

No.

Folks, if you're having trouble, disable your AV, redownload the drivers and the package, READ the instructions fully, and try again. Further problems, try a different MicroUSB cable - the Samsung stock cable is known to suck!

Windows users: all of the above continues to fail for you, replace run.bat with this, and run again: http://goo.gl/oAlVr

Your statements are...well...to be nice, stupid. It's funny you bash the service, yet you use it...and assume the guy (cause he speaks Spanish) or that metropcs employees wont figure it out. (You sound a little racist and ignorant)

Either way…anyone can figure it out. All companies use an app called Rootchecker, and Regardless if SU is installed or not that app will tell the user if their phone is rooted or not.

So before you automatically judge and assume, look at yourself, you seem like a lost puppy trying to fit in somewhere...

Can u please please please help those of us who have lost root due to updating the su binaries...I was so thrilled when I got rooted so easily..for 20 whole minutes until that stupid binary update. I know others have had this problem also, I tried replacing the original run.bat with new link and still no success. It actually won't run correctly to begin with. I love this phone and it's my 3rd one in a month, I managed to pretty much brick 2 Huawei M835, so i switched to the Admire. Could you incredibly brilliant developers help those of us with this problem out? Prettty please? Thanks in advance.

Well it's been buzzing for 30 minutes.. I'm starting to panic, how long should it take?
