2- Get your own SPC Number Click Here & Enter Your MEID. That will be your key to unlock the phone and your password. Your MEID could be found at Settings->About Phone->Status ... it's all numbers
3- Got to Start-->All Programs-->QPST-->QPST Configuration.
4- Select your phone from the list (the phone should be in Debug Mode).
5- If you don't see your phone Click on "Add New Port" uncheck "Show Serial and select the port and add it.
6- With your phone selected go to Start Clients-->Service Programing. Select the phone and click OK.
7- If a dialog came up telling you to retry click on retry.
8- Click on "Read from Phone" you will be asked for your SPC number to unlock the phone and get its information.
9-M.IP tab change the mobile ip behavior to: simple IP only
Write to Phone (the phone should restart by itself)
1 you need qpst in your pc
2 you need to unlock your meid
3 go to mip task in qpst a seach option mobile ip
4 changes that for simple ip a writer to phone option below in that window

i dont get 3g to start only 1x it seemed to increase download speed but slowed down upload speed so when i clicked on market or search it took longer to load so just set it back.

whatever this does it does the JOB!!!! 400-500 kbps this is awesome !!!!! my metro feels 110% more usable in 3g areas ! i can watch youtube without seeing that horrible buffering symbol, thanks !

there maybe something wrong with the phone call quality with this idk the two phone calls i place today thought i was on speaker phone. also it randomly goes back to 1x for a brief period of time then defaults back to 3g.

OK.. here's my report.
Stationary speed tests wit 2 bars in homestead/leisure city Florida....
Average results of 3 tests using speed test.net and all three possible IP settings...
Mob IP only:
Ping=324. 6666 Ms
Upload=225. 3333kbps
Download=88. 6666kbps
Simple IP only
Ping=182. 6666ms
Upload=200. 3333kbps
Download=113. 3333kbps
Mob+simple f/back
This soft bricked my phone. Made sounds but wouldn't go past the glowing samgung logo. Fixed by turning on and putting IP setting back to simple IP.
Results:
Simple IP is slightly faster downloading and on ping but 1/8 slower on upload
Mob+simple f/back f/backed my phone.

so you get 133kbps do not use setdns slowdown your down
and i think work good stock 2.3.4 good root and non root
and try market access try if work for you set t mobile
it work for me when i have 2.3.6 on my old phone but my power port broke on my i can changer but not connect usb

First THANK YOU! Second, this process is very simple for anyone who had to use QPST program to update PRL previously to get 3G on the admire so doing this should be super easy and quick. I also stand behind the speed increases noticeably and needs to be done for anyone who has 3G/4G coverage in their city/location.

The test done @ 942pm & 950pm were prior to changing this setting. I had 3G showing during test and at the time of the screen shot went back to 1x. You can see @ 1010pm the speed i got here in North Florida.

took the tests 2 times before going to simple ip, and 5 times in 5 minutes aftewards.
funny thing is tho..i took the test on other servers..clocked 421 kbps in albuqurque nm.
i live in orange county.
use opensignal from the market to check where is your tower you to use my location there is use wireless network and use gps satellite on in location & security

for the changes, essentially, yes, it should. i highly doubt you'll brick your optimus m trying this... granted, anything can happen. if i were in your shoes i'd give it a go

3G aka EVDO will only be launched in certain areas... It isn't even truly being announced... I mean yeah, you have people saying 3G but Metro really isn't advertising it... their plans don't say 3G or EVDO...

The metro stores in my area verifyed this last year.
However the network us already swamped with 3g phones and they don't have towers in alot of areas pushing 3g.

Confirmed working on my end. just finished watching my first YouTube video in HD with no buffering!! took a while to start but once rendered it loaded up. Very pleased with this find. almost better than an actual Rom jkjk. But when it comes to "needs/wants" in a Rom, things like this are mainly requested.

Definitely works. Here in Orlando, I was averaging around 130 kbps down. Now, I get between 0.5- 1.2 mbps. Crazy and shocking difference. Thanks for this. And people say Metro is garbage.

Was NOT trying to compare to your situation. I was referencing "4G area" because that would mean you have "3G" coverage if you happen to live in those big city areas with LTE already. Really wasn't saying anything to you or about your post .. i should have quoted the original guess i wasn't sober. But anyways to everyone else that gets what I was saying enjoy I ran more test's today while driving from my corporate branch to OP and got up to 900k 3 times.

Yes if you live in an area with coverage for 4G then you'll gain fast strong 3G speeds. Metro does not advertise this but it is there and fact. Streaming youtube surfing the net and downloading apps etc all very improved over "stock" speeds. Root, Beast ROM, and this will ensure you have the fastest admire as of now until more tweaks/roms are made.
