Default UPDATED 11/23/12: {([ROM])} Android World Order! !OVERCLOCKED 2.3.6!

Introducing:
Android World Order v1.0.1
The first Admire Rom with The AROMA Installer

This is still a work in progress!
Not all features in the AROMA installer work, but most do.

Android World Order, is the first rom for the Samsung Admire that is based off the Offical 2.3.6 and has the AROMA installer. What is the AROMA installer? Its a special version of the updater-script and update-binary that allows you to use your Touchscreen while in recovery. Thats right, you can use your Touchscreen while in CWM. So basically, the AROMA installer turns CWM into CWMTouch. The AROMA installer allows you to install the apps you want. Flash APNs. The possibilities are endless!

This new version of Android World Order is available in 900Mhz with Spz0's Kernel EXT4 Version and 800Mhz with Stock 2.3.6 RFS Version, with a Metro version of both and a Cricket Version of both, as well as an option of adding nTelos APNs.

What works for MetroPCS?

Everything

What works for CricKet?
Everything but MMS and some rare cases of bluetooth droping connection.

Download!

AWO_AROMA_v1.0.1.zip - 127.64 MB

BUT WAIT 2GBSD! Why iz der only one downloadz?! j00 sayd ther waz fuor versionz!

With the AROMA Installer, you can pick what version you want while in recovery

WARNING FOR CRICKET USERS!
When you turn on the phone and turn it off you will see the MetroPCS Boot animation and Shutdown animation. I have not fully de-metroed the Cricket version yet.

How doez i install dis ding?!

For the Metro/CricKet EXT4 version:
1. Download the .zip and place on SD Card.
2. Boot into CWM Version 5.0.2.8.
3. Select Install From SDCard.
4. Find where you put the .zip file and install.
5. Wait for the AROMA Installer to start.
6. Select the theme for the AROMA Installer.
7. Accept the Agreement and read Changelog.
8. Select 1 for Metro or 3 for CricKet.
9. Pick your extra apps then wait for AROMA Installer to finsh.
10. REBOOT AND PROFIT!

For the Metro/CricKet RFS version:
1. Download the .zip and place on SD Card.
2. Boot into CWM Version 5.0.2.7.
3. Format /system and /data
4. Mount /system and /data
5. Select Install From SDCard.

Excellent work, 2G. I, too, have been waiting for an EXT4 2.3.6 rom. I am downloading now and will flash it after modifying it. Looks great, thanks

First off, I love the screen animations, but they might be what is slowing my phone down. I checked CPU Master and I am running at 900Mhz and its still a little laggy. Other than that its nice. I installed most all my apps and still have 119Mb free. I'm definitely digging the icons in the status bar, especially the battery indicator. I like the background but might change it to something else after a while, but I do remember the fifth of November, lol.

All in all its a nice rom, I might stick with it for a while and might stick it on my wifes phone.

Is there a way to turn off animations, by chance?

Edit: Jay-kay, I found it, set it to "Some Aminations" and now it seems to run a LOT faster.

Android Lithium is a mix of 2.3.4 and 2.3.6 overclocked with req's kernel and tweaks.
Android World Order is full on 2.3.6 and overclocked with Spz0's kernel and tweaks.

Heres a good analogy I found on XDA regarding EXT4 vs RFS file systems:

Quote:
Why would you use NTFS partitions in windows instead of FAT32? Because NTFS is faster in input and output of data transfer.

Same with EXT4, it's faster with input and output.
RFS is more stable however...

It's not bad. It's an overclocked 2.3.6. The animations do make things laggy but aside from that it's good.

Here is my take on it:
A bit laggy.
Way too many animations.
Love the launcher.
A bit of a battery hog.
Need Link2SD support. (I cannot get it to work.)
Well thought out.

Actually on these phones ext3 is the best fs. Most benefits of ext4 but no journaling faster.

If I still had my admire I'd probably be working on an ext3 kernel to replace my ext4 one you're using in this rom.

It has link2sd support lol I got it to work. And you can just turn off animations or use uot to flash different animations. I didn't notice the battery thing but I thought 2.3.6 lasted longer.

i recommend that you keep the overclock kernel but set it so when you flash it its set to 800 or perphaps even lower so some admire can actually boot up

The normal way. What causes it to force close? After you choose the partition or after you reboot?

For GingerCream, you need to be on the Offical MPCS 2.3.6 Update. For UOT, it needs to be the framework-res.apk and SystemUI.apk from the rom you are using.

i just noticed how you actaully included included the tapatalk within the rom, seriously that piracy my friend. i hate to be the stricter here, but tapatalk is a paid app and besides even if you were to include the app taken from the internet it wouldnt work. trust me i tried that a long time ago and the app never even loads up. you might want to take away the app from it rom anyways save yourself the trouble my friend. open doors arent a good place for piracy
Actually on these phones ext3 is the best fs. Most benefits of ext4 but no journaling faster.

If I still had my admire I'd probably be working on an ext3 kernel to replace my ext4 one you're using in this rom.

Sent from my DROIDX using Tapatalk 2.
I believe somewhere I was reading an argument about these file system formats. Aparently there is a script that can turn off journaling when using ext4 . I wish I had bookmarked it.

Without revealing too many details, I had a friend that had sent me Tapatalk 2 Beta 5 once and it worked great, always asked to be updated but all I did was click "Ok" and then back out of the Market and it was golden. I have since paid for it to avoid the issues but just saying, it worked even though it was pirated.

Default Hmmm

I see this gorgeous ROM, and I want it :P First, I have to ask.... One thing I've always had a problem with is Internal Storage. I note that you say this ROM is lightweight, and that's awesome.... You did damned fine work in getting A.W.O. to be so damned great!

I was reading on another forum that you can use to format your SD-card with TWO ext-4 partitions (I have an 8gb sd-card), and move (on a strictly experimental basis, I assume) certain application data to the second partition. My understanding is that Link2SD and similar applications don't do this, they just move unprotected data + the .apk file...

Why would I want to do this?
I like the ROM as is, so far, but I have some rather bulky, essential applications that require a fair amount of space on internal storage, and even with this ROM installed, I have less than 20Mb left.
With that said, would it even be possible to try, on this humble little Admire??? I don't have a card-reader, or I would use MiniTool Partition to just set it up that way. Ideas? Corrections? Laughing in my general direction, even?

First off nice rom. You can use DTA2SD its allready in there use the dt a2sd commands to get it working. Don't use the move app data command. Also in titanium backup you'll see backup/restore on top when you open it. Click that and only your downloaded apps touch and hold down, another screen will pop up. Then scroll till you see MOVE APP DATA TO SD. Do that and you will never run out of space.

Try it again. I had to reload the page three or four times before I got my download to complete.... Also, 2Gig might be uploading the changed file, or something.

Apparently I cannot read my FAT32 partitioned SD card. Busybox, when ran from the terminal, doesn't even show it, even though it's mounted... Tried to manually set up the partition to use Link2SD instead, but Mini Partition damaged the file system on the card..... I know I need two partitions to use this stuff, so how do I make it happen?
