Default opinions of Advent Amico

There is a Advent Amico for sale on a forum I visit a lot and im looking for opinions before i decide to buy it .

I have looked at a lot of android tablets, but many of them have very poor battery life, what sort of battery life can I expect from the Advent?

I would love a cheapish android tablet, It will mainly be used for checking/replying to gmail, ebuddy for msn/facebook chat, watching the odd movie or tv show and as a remote for my HTPC (running xbmc)

was wondering if anyone has used/owned one and can let me know how they like it?

Thanks for reading

Negative reviews here and there.. nothing glowing about it, it seems.

"There's no Home button to be found anywhere on the device, and there's no 3G connectivity either. Both of these things are required by Google before it will allow manufacturers to install Google services on a device."

"The practical upshot of this is that the Advent Vega doesn't have access to the Android Market. Nor does it have access to Google apps such as Gmail, YouTube and the main Email app."

Advent Vega review from TechRadar UK's expert reviews of Laptops and netbooks

Do a search on "advent amico battery life" to find user reviews on that, but the spec is "5 days standby."

I've placed this thread in the Advent Tablets section for you.. check around for users of that device.
