(PM'd you)
If you somehow stumble upon the apk, you should be able to use:
adb install Talk.apk
If not, you can definitely copy it to your SD card, then from the phone copy it back to /system/app (when /system is mounted r/w of course). Let me know if you need more specifics.

hey you should have read my safety list lol... it helps when you delete stuff off your phone. in the meantime reflash a rom of your choice(i like velocity) and magically your market will reappear and work again.

you don't need a stock rom. you need any rom with talk included. you can use any rom with any recovery you want... just do your vzb update first cuz custom recoveries dont allow ota updates unless you relflash the stock recovery.

hell yeah you can use clockworkmod. in the market its called rom manager. for the usb driver you should try to get a hold of the v6 downgrade file cuz it has a copy of the lg drivers with it even if you dont flash the v6 downgrade. you can try to remove ur sdcard and manualy inputing the apk into the sdcard then placing it back in you ally. if you need the apk look here ROM Manager - Android app on AppBrain
I have downloaded every single set of drivers on two different computers (Windows 7 and XP) and still can't get this damn thing to show up. I did a hard reset, and that didn't do anything either. I have one more computer that I can try to get working, otherwise I'm guessing I'm SOL.

Yeah. Computer number 3 has failed. Don't really know what to do. The only computer left is the Mac (I've already tried the Windows partition on it), and I'm guessing that is unusable.
Its been known to fail, but i think its because the install-recovery.sh file and im not trying to say not to use it, sorry it came out wrong. i have no problem with it. Its just alot of other people seem to complain about it, and rom manager.

The LG Ally was one of the first Android handsets from the Korean manufacturer to see a US release. The QWERTY slider came to Verizon in the spring of 2010 as a mid-range smartphone geared towards those looking for a solid media and messaging... Read More
