Default saving to sd card

I have the LG Ally, and I followed the directions in the link of How to Partition your SD card for A2SD, however each time I download and install an app I check the available space on phone and it keeps going down. I was maybe thinking wrong but I thought once I did the HOW TO that it would save and install to the SD card.....or am I doing something wrong? Thanks in advance.

what are you running on your phone? any custom ROMs? i believe you have to have a custom ROM that enables the use of apps2SD.

Also, available space will still go down in implementations of Apps2SD that keep Dalvik cache on main storage and apps on card.
