Rooted Ally, VIRUSES?!

So I have a rooted LG ally and I decided after a couple of months of doing it, to download AVG free Antivirus on my phone. Well.... To say the least, check out the screen shot included. Is this because my phone is rooted, that I get all these suspicious files, or are they actual malware/viruses and what the hell should I do with them? If I fix them will it ruin my root accesses? If someone else would be willing to download AVG free and run it to let me know what their experiences are with it that would be great. Thanks. I know alot of people who have rooted phones who have never used an antivirus, but what the hell is all of this?

If anyone has a response to this, please, if possible, include a source that shows your solution working. I don't want to fix the files and crash my phone. Thank you for any support.

heh, uninstall AVG Anti-Virus and your virus will be gone.

Unfortunately, that was a real comment. The state of viruses on the Android platform at this point is little more than virus software companies using FUD to make everyone think there is a current or impending Android virus epidemic.

That said, unless AVG can specify exactly what the "suspicious item" is, I wouldn't trust it to fix it.

AVG Works well on PCs for a free anti-virus. But i still don't thing there is too high of a risk for android phones at the moment

AVG will say there is viruses just to make you worry and so you buy there software. Thats what all security software is designed to do.

50% to make you buy it, 20% to look good. 30% Safety.

Maybe for android but theres alot of decent free pc anti-virus that work wonders

To keep the thread on-topic....

As the device is rooted, it's possible that AVG is identifying the Linux exploit(s) used to gain root as possible virus activity. I saw this myself on Saturday, when my AV solution blocked d/l of the VISIONary rooting tool. It didn't know the context, but simply recognised the fingerprint and sounded the alarm.

Without more specific details on this "suspicious item" it's hard to make a call. I think that the numbers shown are simply a summary of objects scanned, though.

I tried the AVG version myself last night. I think the problem is either that the phone is rooted or that Unknown Sources is turned on. The reason I say that is because if I ran the checks on the individual sections, everything passed. The only thing that failed was in Security where it notified me that Unknown Sources is enabled and it sees that as a potential virus threat.
