if you were rooted, and then did the ota updates, it broke your root. if you got updated to vzc, you have to get z4root and reroot. you can pay for it in the market, or sign up at xda forums and download it there...just have to transfer to the root of your sd card and run it. universal androot no longer works since the vzc update(unless it has been updated)

I used a backup in Clockwork and then applied the OTA's. I have tried 4z to reroot and it flashes a error message then reboots. The message is so fast I can't read it.
I have finally got the right version of z4 root, however I don't believe it is working to root the phone. It says it will install busybox when it finishes and it has not done that.
you may have to install busybox first, never had that issue. did you flash all the way back to completely stock and do this? or did you use a recovery? if you used a recovery, its possible there's a corruption in your recovery that's stopping it from working. best bet if you havent already done it is to flash the original firmware and recovery How-To: Flash Stock LG Rom
or find swc's thread about doing it his way...ive read that it works well, just havent tried any other way than what's in the link i just posted
without adb on your pc, and without the drivers installed, the easier way is swc's...but like i said, i never used it, so its up to you....swc can also help you i'm sure if you have questions about his method.
