Default Recycle bin app

Hi,

I am a new android user and a developer. My team and I are creating a new app called the recycle bin which helps users restore any files like videos, mp3s, pics etc they delete accidentaly. We were planning to also synch it up with google virtual space to save these files and save some memory on the phone itself.

What do you think can be some of the other functionalites that I could add to make the app more accepted and used by the android community?

I was hoping to have this testedy globally as well so please let me know if anyone is interested to check it out before we release it very shortly.

Cheers!

How about including a secure delete option?

If I don't want something saved ANYWHERE and I want to make sure the file is overwritten and not recoverable, that would be a nice thing to be able to do.

A simple way to clear everything that was previously deleted would also be nice. Like emptying the recycle bin on a windows PC.

Also, be clear about privacy in your app description and explain your permissions thoroughly. I'd be a bit concerned with any app that sends my data to somewhere else, not knowing what data they are taking and who has access to that information.

Hi Nishanth,

My team has completed the development of the application and its being released next week. I will share with you all the source files and help you with understanding how we went about doing it. Can you brief me on your approach so far? Whats the logic and how far have you progressed? If you are a keen developer then you could work with us in developing some more android apps on similar lines and get paid for it as well.

For the moment I would suggest you hold on for sometime on the app you are developing and we can synch up shortly once I am free after the release of my app!

Cheers.

Hi,

Thanks for your suggestions!

Yes this has been included and you can review it in my release scheduled next week. Will send you the details on the same, so that you could test the features you wanted and let me know your feedback.

When you release your app, feel free to write up and announcement and post it in our Applications Announcements forum. That's where we point folks looking for new apps. I also like how the screenshots are larger here than in the Play market.

Call it Windows-esque, but Android should have always had a trash bin built in... for everything that gets deleted. I look forward to the efforts here to patch another glaring hole.

I think that they already launched it.
Just installed an app called Dumpster - Recycle Bin from Google play
and it seems that this app can restore files just like the recycle bin on a windows PC.
