Question Beta Testing Tool

Hi All

Is there any web based Android beta testing tool out there that will allow me to simply upload the .apk file and invite users to test the app?

haha I guess you misread my question. Anyway, I know there is a web based tool for iPhone apps called Test Flight that allows a user to upload the IPA file and invite users to test the app. So, I was wondering if there is something similar for Android apps were the user uploads the apk file

I'm not sure what you mean - here, you can upload the .apk file in a post, and then ask other people to download and test it. What does Test Flight do?

Testflight makes it easier to get your app onto peoples devices via the ad hoc provisioning system, which is a pita. Android suffers no such problems so you can just give the URL or whatever and off you go.

The downside of that is that just anybody can pick it up. Best to make sure the buy button or adverts are in anything you share out.

Oh, right, to get around the blocks Apple sets up?

Yeah, it's true that anyone can pick it up if you post it on the forums, but that's good for early stages that have lots of bugs. Once you start getting to a version for release, then you can clamp down on how many people have access to it by just doing everything through PM instead of through the forums.

When you're creating a post (or reply), under the "Additional Options" section, there's a button that says "Manage Attachments." Click on that, and then browse for your .apk and upload it.
