Tongue Disable ads without having to pay $15

Hello,

So I just rooted my new Kindle Fire HD and installed the Play Store, but there is still one thing that annoys me: Ads. It's no big deal, but is there a way to disable them?

No, I mean on the lockscreen etc. To those who don't know, you can buy the Kindle Fire HD with or without "Special Offers", see here: Kindle Fire HD - Most Advanced 7" Tablet - Only $199

no problem and it has to do with taking the framework-res.apk and locating the images and replacing them and then pushing the framework-res.apk back in the kindle. possibility it will brick your device though. ill link the instructions when i get home on my laptop tonight.

Thanks again. The only thing I need to know now is how to access the root directory from the PC (I can only access the sdcard folder).

good question! seeing as though our kfhd's are android based i would presume that Android Commander will work just the same. i havnt tried it yet so im not sure of the consequences it may or may not have. when i get home from work ill give it a try and update the status.
