(1) Plants vs. Zombies. I believe they should make an HD, optimized version. Braaaains! Hint hint, PopCap. I know you're reading this.

(2) IPS screen. I was initially worried about the quality of the display. I suppose this classifies as more of a spec, rather than a feature.

Default Kindle Fire Contest Entry

1. I'm really looking forward to having a mobile solution for my Amazon Prime Streaming. That app will make the Amazon Prime media options really worth it!

2. I think the Amazon Cloud is really great. Given the Kindle Fire has 8GB of space being able to store Amazon media on the Cloud will save lots of space for users with easy access to wifi like myself.

Default Kernel Suggestions Part 1

Fascinate dev jt1134 does great work with MTD/AOSP ROMs and kernels (in fact, all MTD/AOSP builds on the Fascinate owe their existence to him because he was the one who made the MTD file system possible on the Fascinate) - perhaps he might get a Kindle Fire and dev for it (he already does work on porting CM7 for the original Galaxy Tab for Verizon)

Default ROM Suggestions Part 2

2. TSM Pool Party (in case you're unfamiliar with TSM's work, check out www.teamsbrissenmod.net - they've done great things with the Fascinate, the Droid Incredible 2, and the Droid Charge). Pool Party, in case you didn't already know, is AOSP. If I win (or end up buying) the Kindle Fire, I might learn how to do development just to try to port Pool Party and to make it tablet-friendly

MIUI offers great features, including a customizable theme engine (meaning you can build themes one part at a time) and easy access to settings not available on most other ROMs

Default Kernel Suggestions Part 2

The Glitch kernel, in case you haven't heard of it, is widely known in the Galaxy S communities (the international i9000, the Captivate, the Vibrant, the Fascinate, etc.), mainly for its speed and advanced settings (more governors and schedulers to choose from than most custom kernels, GPU acceleration settings, for example)

1) I'm most looking forward to the Kindle app on this guy. Yes, I know it's a boring answer, but I really enjoy reading on a backlit display. Laying in bed and pouring though a book is really nice.

2) The feature that I like the best is the 7" form factor. It's something that can fit in a coat pocket

1. I'm most interested in getting videos for my 3 year old to replace having her watch them on my wife's old Samsung Moment -- still working, but starting to give green screens and little battery life.
2. The form factor is exciting as we don't currently have anything like this in our house.

1) Comixology's comic reading app. Trying to read comics on a phone works, but is annoying.
2) Obviously, the big(ger than phone) screen is the main attraction in my case.

Default What App am I looking for? KINDLE itself

I love the kindle app and use it every day on my phone/tablet. It would be great to have a kindle fire. I like the size cause sometimes a 10 inch tablet is just too big and too heavy. 7 inches are perfect to take on the train/in the park/to starbucks/...

I like the free cloud storage feature and that I can access the whole amazon content I'm already used to. Whispersync is great as well.

So free storage, 7 inch, amazon, performance and ANDROID how cool is this???

Oh yeah and dual-core processor in a 199 dollar tablet - what else to say?!

I WANT IT SO BAD...

Default ROM Feature Suggestions Part 1

Please, developers, if you build custom ROMs for the Kindle Fire, make sure the Amazon Video On Demand app still works, if at all possible - this is really the feature that makes the Kindle Fire competitive with the likes of the iPad, as it offers movies and tv purchases comparable to iTunes

Default Kindle Fire App Store

This is more directed at Amazon than at developers, but it bears mentioning: although you already have an appstore customized just for the Kindle Fire, you should still include a filter to set tablet-friendly apps apart from the rest. If you put this feature in all versions of your appstore, you'll not only give your store another edge over the Android Market, but you'll also jump-start tablet development overall and make all Android tablets (yours included) more competitive with the iPad

Default ROM Feature Suggestions Part 3

Developers, please consider making your ROMs theme-friendly so others will have an easier time making themes for your ROM. This is much better than simply changing a few UI colors and icons and releasing as a separate ROM. It allows for more variety as more themers are encouraged to work with your ROM, making your ROM more popular in the process, and eliminates a huge source of flaming from a user base that hardly needs anything to provoke their trolling instincts.

Default ROM Feature Suggestions Part 4

Lockscreen customizing has really taken off in popularity recently, becoming a category all its own alongside ROMs, kernels, and themes. The possibilities are endless for making a unique, attractive and functional lockscreen - it's almost a ROM in its own right. The more attention you pay to lockscreens, the more you set your ROM apart from the rest

Default Ordered on Oct 1

Waiting impatiently ever since.

1. Kindle e-reader.

2. Amazon video on demand finally on Android!

Amazon has me wrapped up for books, magazines, mp3 and music - just haven't been able to enjoy movies on my Nook Color/CM7. The Fire brings all of that together.

I bet there's also a much bigger strategy in store for Silk and future business app development.

-I am just excited to be able to read my textbooks and still be able to stow it away into my jacket pocket, thus I don't have to lug it around. Also its the best for reading anywhere (for example on the can), vs reading on my laptop

(2) What feature of the Kindle Fire excites you the most?

1. I'm looking MOST forward to using the Read It Later app with the Silk browser. I find it difficult to keep up with all my reading on my phone, so the Kindle Fire will be very useful for this.
2. In addition, the feature I'm most excited for is the combination of an android tablet with a kindle reader so I can use apps like Evernote while reading my ebooks. Bring on the Kindle Fire.

(1) What app, game, magazine, newspaper, or other activity are you MOST looking forward to using on the Kindle Fire?

Reading ebooks. I'm an incredibly avid reader, and so of course the Fire would appeal...

(2) What feature of the Kindle Fire excites you the most?

Whispernet for video.

Default Kindle Fire

1) I'm most excited about the ability to read a book, or magazine on it, since a phone doesnt exactly cut it for a book.

2) I'm also excited about checking out the carousel / bookshelf that they have on their UI.
