Default 32GB MicroSDHC/TransFlash TF Memory Card???

Is this a good card to buy for 50 bucks?

"The microSD card is based on TransFlash, which is the world’s smallest flash memory card form factor and were recently adopted by the SD Card Association (SDA) and renamed "microSD."
The new microSD card is fully compatible with TransFlash card slots and is designed as a small, flash memory storage card for mobile phones and devices. It supports existing TransFlash product lines and will transition its handset customers and the retail channel to the renamed microSD card.
  • Universal compatibility with TransFlash memory card slots.
  • Comes bundled with an SD Adapter for use with microSD or TransFlash cards.
  • Built-in security features enable users to download, store, and play secure content just like an SD card."
I'm not sure what Transflash really means or what it means that its the worlds smallest flash memory card factor??? Is this all a good thing?

Here is a listing for it:

http://cgi.ebay.com/New-32GB-Micro-SD-SDHC-TF-Trans-Flash-Memory-Card-32G-/330442280085?cmd=ViewItem&pt=PDA_Accessories&hash= item4cefe50c95

I have been seeing a few post on the dual 16 gig card or something. Not sure what it is called. Wondering if someone can point a link to one of these 32gb that is being called 16gb x 2. Thanks. Sorry to cut in on this thread. Brian

I posted the link on my first thread. Its at the bottom of my post

But I went ahead and entered the fray of battle and won this exact card for 36 bucks last night. Can't wait for it to get here. I saw another one from the same person I won mine from go for 28 bucks.

According to the item description, yes, they are full 32gig cards, not duel 16gigs. If anyone is interested in getting the one for 50 bucks, its still up I think so take a gander...

The buyer I got mine from had a %99.7 rating and I saw on his comment board that many were happy with their memory card purchases, so I think I'm ok.

$50 is definitely too good to be true. I highly suggest sticking with reputable brands and reputable sellers. A 32GB microSD from Sandisk is $200. It's a bit cheaper at around $140 from Provantage.

Prices of (Micro) SDHC cards these days center entirely on their speed rating. If you're not capturing/playing HD video, you're usually ok w/a lower class rating, but if you may be doing either of those, it's safer to stick with a class 6 or higher.

Needless to say, there are a ton of class 2 cards on the market for which demand has plummeted; therefore their pricing is through the floor.

I won this one for $27

32GB TF MicroSDHC Micro SDHC SD Flash Memory Card 32G - eBay (item 370396931895 end time Jun-15-10 18:39:01 PDT)

I later read some complaints on forums about fake 32gb cards being shipped. I check the sellers reviews and saw a couple of the same complaints. Found a tool (H2testw 1.4 ? Gold Standard In Detecting USB*Counterfeit*Drives SOSFakeFlash) that can tell if it's a card that was flashed to seem bigger then it was.

Still waiting for it to arrive, but the seller has a "7 day return period" after receipt of the item, so if it IS fake I'll just go the return/ebay complain/ paypal complain route.

Thanks! I will def use this once the card gets here. I was reading one of the commenters story about his 8 gig cards, he was selling them but had no clue it was a fake one. One quick note as well, I saw that this goes all the way back to 2008.

I wonder if ebay has cracked down on it??

* I just noticed that they also showed tests for 64 gig cards/usb flash drives. Is this program meant to test micro sd cards as welll?? Or is it just usb flash drives?

Yes, it is also meant to test SD cards.

Speaking of which, I got mine in the mail yesterday, ran the test, and low-and-behold, it's a fake. 2gb ok, 30gb not ok.

Paypal claim filed, with links to the 12 other people who did negative reviews on him on ebay for the same thing.

Yea, I knew that I had a bigger chance of it being a fake rather then just a cheap knockoff, but I wasn't worried. $27 truly isn't that much, even for someone on my Paramedic salary, and alas I'm fairly confident Paypal will refund due to the sellers history.

Talking ebay Scammerz!! 32GB TF Memory Card 32G Micro SD SDHC MicroSDHC MicroSD

Strangely enough, I was looking at the very same card you guys are talking about on Ebay, right before I stumbled upon this thread. FYI there are quite a few different sellers (all out of Hong Kong, surprise surprise) that are auctioning these cards starting at around 99 cents with free shipping... Bottom line is, if it seems too good to be true, it usually is..
And so, I cancelled my bid.
Good conversation, thanks all!!!

BTW, I just got the new android phone from U.S. Cellular, the Samsung Acclaim, and would like some educated advice on what size micro SD card to get.. Of course, I would LOVE to have a 32GB, but am unsure as to whether or not I can afford a good one.. Any comments? I've never had a smartphone/android phone or whatever..Hell, the nicest phone I've ever had was the Motorola Razr2 v9 hee hee..So.....I hear that the 16GB is the best "bang for your buck" but I am admittedly, a Serious Pack-Rat, and tend to be a hoarder, even with data.. ANYWAY, please advise on any and every single detail I should know about this..Thanks so much!!

if you got 100+ bucks to spend on an sd card go grab a 32gb, if not 16 gbs are around the 50+ area, check around read reviews and research. newegg has good deals from time to time, they just got doen a pretty damn good one on 32 gbs (20% off i think it was for last weekend) in anycase i find that on a phone i have alot harder time filling up space. apps are relitivly small, and even with my music (i have well over 100gbs of music on my pc) i rarely ever keep a large amount on my phone, since i persoanlly dont have exstended times to listen to it.

my honest opinon, most phones come with some kind of memory, did yours? if so try it out, or get a cheap card if your unsure. but i cant see many people needing 32 gbs of storage.

I win.

After I filed a complaint, the 'guy' tried emailing me several times asking if I could ship the card back and he'd refund me. I never responded (screw that, I'm not paying shipping to China for someone who might or might not repay me)

I guess he got scared that it'd be a mark against his Paypal, because he did a full refund and emailed me saying "If you can ship it back that'd be great, if not that's fine too"

I win,

Yes, all you have to do is download and run.

Though the test takes quite a while, so start it just before you go to sleep.

I would also love to get a 32 GB (then I could get rid of my iPod Touch). But I found a 16GB card for $25 off Amazon. Did a test and it WASN'T a fake! That's an incredible deal, considering the same card goes for $70 from Best Buy.

They only make Class 2 32GB micro SD cards at the moment. The tech just matured enough for them to even make the card, let alone up the class.

For what it's worth, I have a class 2 32GB, and I got ~4MB/s during a robocopy from my old 16GB to the new 32GB. As the class speed has no effect on the read speed of the card, you probably won't notice too much of a difference in day-to-day use.

If you need performance, the best size::speed you can get from microSD is a 16GB class 6.

Don't buy these!!!!

I saw these on Ebay a month or so ago, placed a bid and won it for around $32. The card came in the mail two weeks later, but it was complete rubbish - only about 2GB of the card was usable, although the computer recognized it as a 32GB card. Tried to move all my music at least 6 times, but no good - most of the files were corrupted and didn't work. I contacted the seller, he immediately gave me a refund without asking for me to ship it back, and for that I left him positive feedback, but I will never buy anything from him (grandtechdigital) again.

So yes, bottom line: if it's sounds too good to be true, then it probably is. I went for the plunge just because $32 was cheap and I could get a refund if I wanted to. However, it sounds like some of you weren't as lucky as I was.

Default Ebay cards

I just bought one of the Verizon SanDisk 32gb cards that are flooding EBay. Probably purchased by Verizon employees. Got it at a “buy it now price” of $89, free shipping. Went through Bing’s cashback program so I’ll get another $7.20 back in two months. Bing will stop this program 7/30/2010.

AWWE that sucks... at least you could get refund. I just bought (2) 32g Micro SDHC TF cards on Ebay for $72.00. (I travel quite a bit and watch movies on my phone) I received them yesterday, and they work as described. Lucked out I guess. Advise to the newer buyers aka noobs out there ... (not directing to you br123), Be careful, don't buy without research, use PayPal (so if anything goes haywire, you could refund) beware of china sells (lots of counterfeit) good luck and happy bidding!!

Question:

Do you NEED class 2 or 4 micro card? The 2GB card Avatar is on dont appear to be a class rated card either and works fine for an HD video.

Here is a class 4 Amazon.com: TOPRAM 16GB 16G microSD microSDHC Card Class 4 with SD Adapter and SDHC R1 (black) reader: Electronics

He asked for a 32 GB, not a 16GB. 16 GB cards go up to class 6. I've had one for over a year now, and they were around before that.

32gb Micro SD card. 100% REAL - eBay (item 320567699430 end time Aug-01-10 16:42:01 PDT)

^^^Well, I (inadvertantly) found your listing on Ebay and just won it. Some mark buster ebay newbie (lol) kept on bidding raising the price (which is good for you hawk ).

I sent in a bid with about 10 seconds left and beat the mark buster by 2 cents. He bid like 20 seconds before me I think so I didn't even know he rebidded. It was at 90 bucks before I sent in my bid. I was thinking I was gonna get it for under 100 at least. Here is the bidding race here:

eBay.com Item Bid History

e***a( 5 ) Is the Mark Buster that earned you more money

Oh well, at least I got a 32GB card now for a decent deal.

The same happened to me! I received this card - it was even before all the fake-card news came out, otherwise I'd never ordered this card! And it was ok by h2testw. Took HOURS to complete

Today I was checking ebay for a friend who also wants to have a 32 GB card and all I find is 4 offers worldwide.

OK, I seem to be the lucky guy, but fortune favours fools.. or as they say: 天上掉馅饼

Priceless!

Btw, I double-checked my microSDHC card again and - surprise - it is a 2GB fake card. Paypal will do the rest.

Most memory cards you find on Ebay will be fakes - especially those coming from outside the US.

It was the same issue with Pro Duo for PSPs. I bought one as well - 4GB for ~$30 when they were still ~$80 in stores. THe card worked fine, just it was quite a bit slower than the 'real' cards and no magicgate.

Just a heads up. Ebay and memory cards = probably a fake.

Default HI

Hi I am new here

First post (of hopefully many more). I am looking at getting a few 32gig memory cards for my new google tablet. I bought the tablet off of dhgate and I am really please with it thus far. Other then not giving the correct country adapter I am ok with that!.

All I am wanting is to play movies ( not necessarily hd) and music and run software of it.

Found these two on ebay:

Option 1

BRAND NEW 32GB MICRO-SDHC TF MEMORY CARD (eBay item 160545543894 end time 15-Mar-11 19:57:17 AEDST) : Cameras

I am thinking OK, but what i have read is the higher the class the better it is? So if it turns out to be a class 2 I won't be upset.

Option 2:
100% NEW 32GB Micro SDHC SD Memory Card + Adapter (eBay item 250774507870 end time 26-Feb-11 13:03:31 AEDST) : Cameras

Ok alarm bells! NO Feedback and 120 Sold in history???? Sounds really dodgy so I as far as I am concerned I only have one option. I don't want to spend more then 50 bucks (aud) on them and cheap delivery.

Your thoughts?

Kind Regards
ShenLun

I would not trust them, if you have access for some local vendor at a good price, that's maybe better.

Here's a thread with some more information like this thread, including links to formatting tools - and a tool to test if the card is a rip-off: Tales of Shifty SD card woes

In the US, we would expect to pay maybe $60 for a 32GB class 4 Sandisk.
