i had this set up before i wiped my desire now trying to get it back but when entering my details in (correctly of course), when it tries to connect i get a "couldnt connect to server" error and cant get it set up again

also ive read about how people are forwarding emails to gmail to get instant notification, but doesnt that mean if i reply to said email, it will appear as if it came from the gmail address? (or is there a way around that?)

easiest way to reply to a gmail addy from another address with k-9 is to create a second identity

from within the account you are forwarding the mail to:

settings>account settings>manage identities>menu>add new identity

There are ways of doing it by obscuring where the email is actually coming from, but doing it with an "identity" allows the mail to actually be sent from that email addreess (servers and all).
