Definitely Remote for iTunes is the best iTunes Remote app available. Worth the $5, I don't miss my iPod Touch for remote control anymore. Extremely simple to set up as well, no issues whatsoever. If gmote would work with playlists I could probably stick with that, I do like that I can stream my music to my phone with gmote.
And on the subject of iTunes, iSyncr is the only other app I've paid for and it's been worth it. Doubletwist, Windows Media Player, and everything else I tried with my Evo just wouldn't sync correctly. It wouldn't include all the songs on a playlist and I'd get duplicates and whatnot. iSyncr worked perfect the first time. Between iSyncr and Remote for iTunes I don't need my iPod anymore unless I want my entire library (I have 7k songs on my iPod Classic).
Record It (UK Only) [Austin Reid] - allows you to browse the SKY+ channel listings and set any program to record - works a dream!
Unit Converter [Sunny Moon] - believe me when I say this baby will convert just about every measure known to man - thousands of them - but thankfully, you can hide categories / specific units you're not interested in seeing
As far as a perfectly running functional app...you can't beat LauncherPro Beta. Don't be scared off by the beta, it updates all the time and has never crashed out on me. It is an alternate home screen and page setup for your phone. You can add additional screens to your home screen and after you default LauncherPro with the home button, everytime you hit home it will bring up a thumbnail of each of your pages! Completely customizable! Check it out you won't be dissapointed! AND ITS FREE!!!!

Most used: voice search. I'm new to screen typing and manage a somewhat respectable 20wpm, but voice search is just amazingly accurate that I use it as often as possible. First time in my life that voice commands to a computer wasn't frustrating to all hell.
most shown-off: google goggles. More impressive to people than an accurate voice search (which most people expect to work, even if they are insanely surprised when it does).
most looking forward to using: Laputa ereader (and it's amazing selection of free books)
Best deal: Meebo. Seems to solve my "being charged for im's" problem since I don't have a text plan (didn't want one) note: yes, it's free, but it's already started SAVING me money, so that's a pretty good deal in my eyes.
Hi i hope one of you can help me I have launcher pro on my HTC desire and when i pressed the home page it came up as an option along with the original setting but i chose the original setting and now i don't have the option of the Launcher pro and i can't find it in apps etc so where do i find it?
Any help will be much appreciated i realise this is probably the wrong place to write this question but i found a recommendation for launcher pro on here....so....
... or don't pay anything and just download the easily available roms. It's not like the places that charge are paying the creators. You can literally find free workable roms within the first three google results for a google search of the program name.
Google Navigation: Not as polished as it should be, but the voice search feature is awesome!!
Carr Matey: Free app to help you find your car.
cloudList: Free shopping list you can update on your phone or from you pc.
JuiceDefender: A little buggy, but helps save a ton of battery life
Missed Call: Set up repeating alerts if you missed a call, missed a text or if your battery is going dead.
MobilePDFViewer: Good free PDF Viewer
MotoTorch: Free flashlight / strobe app that uses the LED flash.
PhoneMyPC: $10 app that allows me to help my parents with their computer from my phone.
Radar Now: Get a quick display of your local doppler radar.
ROM Manager: If you're doing any ROM installs, this tool makes it super easy.
I like these apps, but don't have a need for them very much:
Bump: Transfer contact info between phones by "bumping" them.
Ride Hopper: Tell the wait times for all of your favorite rides. Will be using this when I go to DW this fall.
Shazam: Get the name/artist of any recorded song.
Other useful apps:
Aloqa: Find a decent restaurant when traveling
Assistant Free: Get notifications from your travel/bank/financial accounts
Wireless Tether: For those who are rooted.

Sketch online-the only multiplayer game ive found so far. its great, kills alot of time when your bored.and whats not to love about pictionary.
Battery Left - good info to tell you what is hogging battery life Cestos - great multiplayer game Etheral Dialpad - fun synthesizer 3banana - awesome to keep track of info using photos, tags, etc. Syncs with web Idealyzer - good way to keep track of daily sales from multiple sites SlideIt Keyboard - I've never tried Swype but I'm sure this is similiar. I have been having some trouble with the Y5 battery saver I read about on here. Do i need to set the wifi to off and then the app will turn it on? I have tried it both ways and it doesn't seem to do anything. Please help.
I've had my Droid Incredible for a couple weeks now, so I haven't explored a lot of apps yet. But so far my top 2 have to be Gameboid and Handcent. Love playing some old school GB and GBA games, and the customizable features with Handcent make it the best text/messaging app I've found so far. Much better than the stock one.

Can you change the apps on the bottom yet? The last time I used it you couldn't which is why I prefer ADW.Launcher.
swype: even though I use it like a regular keyboard, and just turn off the word prediction, I seem to be really accurate and and able to type much faster with it...
tvguide app: helps me find programs on TV easily, especially since I have no cable and the converter box guide says no information half the time.
red box: i've easily saved about $10 using the codes, but unfortunately the codes seem to have stopped working as often, but this app does nothing but save you money.
meebo: awesome, i'm connected on all my messengers, even Facebook. This app does seem to work better if you go to meebo.com and create a profile and log in to all your messengers there first, now all my facebook contacts show their profile picture.
red poker: free poker game that looks nice and you play against real people w/table chat.
touiteur(sp?): I think its the best twitter app.
color note: you can put mini post-it type notes on your phone screens.
those are my favorite apps pretty evenly because theyre all important to what I do.

SMS setings
I was using Handcent and have tried a few other sms apps which I do like better than the stock sms app but I can't figure out how to disable the stock sms so that I don't get repeat txt msgs. I know this may have been addressed in another forum but I wasn't able to find it so if you would be so kind as to point me in the right direction of how I can disable that function I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

My most used app is Bar Control. Bar Control allows you to put links to apps in the notification bar (status bar). This allows you to switch to your most used apps quicker without going to the home screen. Bar Control v1.1.0 Application for Android | Tools

I remember someone mentioning a alarm clock app that would slowly play the song/alarm and not just go all out. Does anyone know what I'm talking about? I can't seem to find the post T_T
I use "Alarm Klock". it's a lot better than default. and you can choose what percentage you want the music or tone to start off at, and end at. For example, I have mine set to 0%-30% over a span of 60 seconds. It's awesome.

MixZing - Not sure how many of you use this app, but it's a fantastic media player. It supposedly keeps track of the music you play most & builds you custom playlists using the music you have on your phone. I haven't used that feature, but in general, it's a great app. Best of all, with the latest update, it now has a graphic equalizer!!! This is the only app I've found so far that has this.
...the only problem is that according to the developer, there's an Android defect which prevents the equalizer from working if you switch to another app. If you do, the music skips for a second as it disables the eq. Once you go back to MixZing, the eq automatically kicks in again. The other cool thing is that you can apply custom eq settings to albums and songs, which is AWESOME!! Hopefully they'll add the ability to save eq settings based on genre soon.

I've tried all of the other launchers and I think I've settled on LauncherPro. I was looking for a slightly more customized version of the stock launcher and I found that LauncherPro actually works better than stock. It's unbelievably smooth and I like the bottom customizable dock plus other custom settings.
I've recently come to enjoy Juice Defender/Plotter, Vampires Live, Mixzing (after EQ addition).
You can retrieve your lost/stolen phone with this software. I liked it because of its nice functionality, invisibility and because it is (or at least i feel like it is) reliable - which is necessary in case of emergency:-)
Keyfeatures: - SMS Commands are received by the phone in silent mode - the
thief wont get suspicious.
- Invisible
- Get the current GPS location of your phone if available
- Get online map services links to Google Maps, Yahoo! Maps or Microsoft Bing Maps
- Lock the phone remotely
- Activate a loud siren, customize the siren sound
- Wipe the phone and erase all private data stored on it
- Retrieve all your contacts to another phone
- Retrieve SMS that are important to you to another phone
- Let the phone call you back (the stolen phone calls you on sms command
and you can hear what happens on the other side :-)
- Implement your own SMS commands
im looking for an app that lets me set profiles to automatically switch to whatever i set at certain times. i saw one before i got the X now i cant find it. thanks!!
