Yeah, I tried it for a day... cool, but not as versatile as a plain old icon to launch a folder (Auto App Organizer is great for that).

Bing | AppBrain Android Market

Doubt it'll cache though - Google Maps does but I don't think there's an OS option or bolt on?

Odd, doesn't show up on my phone's market.

Don't think there's a GM add-on. If you look at the t&cs on the OS website for their free maps offerings, I think it would be difficult to do properly. I'm thinking of going for the ViewRanger stuff - but might have to wait until Christmas.

For me, right now, any football-related app is getting a lot of use. Noticeably...

1. NFL Mobile - Best app. Love being able to watch the Monday night games and whatnot when I'm at work.

2. NFL Sunday Ticket - Again, this gets quite a bit of use. Get the Sunday Ticket at home, but not always home on Sundays.

3. Fantasy (Yahoo, ESPN) - Only downside is I can't edit my roster from my phone. Nice to be able to keep up-to-date on my fantasy teams without having to go to the computer every 5-10 minutes.

4. Netflix - Finally works on all (or most) 2.3 and 2.2 devices. Use this pretty much every night to watch American Dad or whatever in bed.

5. MP3 Music Download - Great app to download music. Quick, easy, and free.

6. Zedge - Awesome availability of wallpapers, ringtones, and notifications. Couldn't be easier to download and replace your old wallpaper/ringtone/notification sounds, etc.

actually there are so many android apps available out there that finger pointing just one to be the best android app would be injustice to the other apps.

If you are referring to Android Market, it wont appear there, but in AppBrain Market.

I just downloaded this, looks pretty sweet. How does the "find your phone" part of it work? I don't find anywhere on their site that explains it, or lets you send a signal. It scans very fast, hopefully it won't eat my battery.

edit: Nevermind, figured it out. I wasn't sure what the help menu items were or how to use them. They are commands to send to your cell# (can do it through another cell or GV text) from PC. They work well (not real accurate unless you have GPS on), it does send you a map location, will activate an alarm. You do need background data checked for it to work (which all phone locators seem to need), be nice if it didn't.

Google's free Navigation app is far and above the best, most useful app for my phone - a free app that places my phone on par with the best Nav units previously available as separate units. I have a windshield mount, and that's where my phone goes every time I get in the car....so there's no cumbersome fumbling around for nav when I need it.

Too bad Google nav still discharges phone faster than car charger charges it.

Yes SwiftkeyX is the best keyboard. I tried many keyboards including Swipe which came pre-installed but am using SwiftkeyX exclusively now.

It might not be true for you, but it is for me. I watch my battery level drop using google nav, while plugged in.

get a charger with a higher mA rating. I use the official motorola one and i think it is 1000mA (or 1 A) and it keeps my droid x charged. you can find it cheap on amazon

+ SwiftkeyX ("type" your most common phrases with just couple of touches)
+ Multicon (more apps on the home screen, gotta love that)
+ Seriesguide (when my fav tv-series will be broadcasted)
+ Aix Weather (I do not need to know what the weather is now, and over 24h forecasts are useless, so how about showing the next 24 hours accurately).
+ Simple Calendar Widget (love the amount of settings it offers)

Default 2 Apps split the title

Two productivity apps are my favourite in joint first:

a - Hackers Keyboard: almost like a full QWERTY with navigation keys.
b - Best Wifi: found it today and it changes my wifi network based on signal strength. So in my lounge it connects to my Virgin media network and then I move into my bedroom and it automatically connects to my extender. Dont even have to touch it and it works within a second based on signal strength. Really smart.

Both free and excellent.

1. Google Sky Map Assistant - Amazing for fans of space and astronomy, it shows you all the galaxies and stuff you can see without a telescope

2. Fpse - plays ps1 games on your phone, excellent if you have an xperia play

3. the Opera Mobile web browser - much better than the stock android one

4. Bizarre Conspiracy Theories - pretty awesome, info on heaps of weird conspiracies and stuff

smart taskbar- a app organizer that can be accessed anytime no matter what your doing on ya phone, it puts a very small transparent circle on either the left or right of your screen.
Ive had circle launcher and ultimate faves pro and while theyre both "cute" Ive used this for about a year now

Charging overvoltage can lead to a battery fire.

Current supply of 500 to 1000 mA (1 A) is fine, and ought present no issues.

Let's please move back on-topic, cheers, thanks!

Express News - Simple to use, lots of variety. Great to catch up on news.
Pulse - Another "news" program with a very nice UI and selection
TuneIn Raido Pro - Great for talk/news radio junkies. Has FM stations as well.
Scanner Radio - if you like to listen to your police/fire department traffic.
Apps Organizer - Android should have this as a stock program. It organizes apps into folders.
Wiz Kid Jr. Jewel like game with a nice twist. Very addicting.
Camera Fun Pro - has nice presets when taking pictures like X-ray view, night vision, distorting mirrors, etc.
Wifi Analyzer - Great to see if your wifi channels are interfering with your neighbors.
City State ID - Caller Id program. No monthly charges.
Join.Me - lets you view other peoples PC (https://join.me) Simple and effective
RPNCalc - It's the best rpn calculator out there!
Swiftkey X - I love swype. But I couldn't use swype, swiftkey is scary good!
B-Folders - great password app. IMO better than 1Password or SplashID. It syncs via Wifi. UI isn't the prettiest, but it's more functional than the others.

And of course, Amazon's Appstore app. I love getting all the paid apps for free!!

Webkey (ROOT REQUIRED) | AppBrain Android Market

I was just out to lunch, stopped at 2 places, got back to work and noticed my phone missing... Befoe I headed out to check the 2 places, I pulled up Webkey on my PC. Saw my homescreen, turn on GPS, and saw my phone on a map out in front of my business... I looked all over my car and finally found it in a crack next to the passenger seat. WOW! It also does lots of other neat stuff.

*********Please Help***************
I accidently deleted a widget or app off my home screen. I don't know the name of it. It allowed me to display my signal strength, battery level, time and date. BUT,,,When i touch the battery icon, for example, it would launch an app. Touch date, It would launch another app. It was my favorite app! I know it now, since i lost it. WILL TRADE KID'S! LOL TIA

Maybe: Clarus Widgets for Android | AppBrain.com
Or one of the Minimalistic Text widgets

New awesome app. Well the app probably isn't new, but I just got an account. It is the box.net app. It is like dropbox, but box.net normally gives you 5GB instead of 2GB from Dropbox. Right now if you activate a new box.net account from the iOS app you get 50GB of cloud storage free for life!

box.net app

The UI is very similar to Dropbox and all the functionality is the same, just a lot more free storage.

So I could activate a new account from a friends iphone or ipad? Is there any other way to get the 50gb like, I don't know, through an iOS emulator(if there is such a thing?

One feature I like about Dropbox is it's usage on my PC or Android phone. I didn't see any reference to this type of functionality when I visited Box.net's site. Does it exist?

Yes, I have already activated accounts for a couple forum members that have PM'd me an email address and they now have 50GB. I have no idea if there is any other way to get the 50GB free.
