Default Is it possible to encrypt sdcard and its contents?

security is top priority for me, i realise there are apps out there that can remote wipe lock etc, but if the thief is quick enough to take out the sdcard and put it in another phone the sdcards contents can still be accessed can't it?
So i would like to know if there is anyway to encrypt or protect the sdcard and the contents within it?

You could create a TrueCrypt container on your SDCard, but you than won't be able to access the data from any app. I wonder if Android has the possibility to provide virtual file systems.

what is the best way to encrypt your personal files such as photos and videos? I just basically dont want someone to be able to access the stuff by just simply taking out the sdcard and putting it in another phone hmmm

The apps MyStash (paid) and B-Folders (free) builds a container with a password. In this container you can put any kind of files.

For only pictures or videos to protect, there a lot of apps in market.
i.e.
Photo Lock
Photos Lock
Photo Safe
PhotoSecure
PhotoSecure Lite
Privacy Gallery
Gallery Private
Pandora

Tasker has the ability to encrypt/decrypt an SD card. You have to get the version from their site though.
