Are you using the official FB app? When you open the app you shouldn't be brought to the website.
Its under the social network thing...it opens a LONG list of updates...but when i click the widget it opens something with a facebook symbol and i click it
and if i go to manage accounts....Gmail says sync contacts with a check/uncheck but facebook all i can do is change email and password
Ok I got ya now. Droid X uses Motoblur 2. So I'm assuming when you setup your device you allowed for the FB to sync right? Did you have to setup a motoblur account or something like that when you were setting up the phone?

No when they did it at the store all i had to do was make a Gmail account...then when i did my facebook it automatically said Facebook will be used for your contact photos...and i cant turn that off so it synced them all and added all these extra contacts...if i try to delete the contact it tells me 2 delete the friend on facebook
Oh and if i remove the facebook account then it goes back 2 normal
That's odd. You could always try doing a factory reset on the phone and setting up again to see you you can not sync the contacts. Or you can just remove that FB account and use another app for FB like Bloo (better than the official app in my opinion)
Ok thanks ill try tonight after a restore....Does backup assistant put my contacts on my memory card?
Not sure. Haven't used it. As long as your contacts are synced with you Google account you're fine. Same goes with your calendar. Just make sure to use the same Google account to setup your phone.
Back up sends your contacts to your " my verizon" account on line. Not your memory card. To sto contacts from syncing on the X go to your home screen, click the settings button ( first hard button on the bottom left), click settings, scroll to accounts and click, click face book (or even gmail), uncheck sync contacts. That should work. Hope this helps.
