Default i need help! new user issues

I'm tryin to see if theres a way to keep my texts from bein displayed and still hav it vibrate or a tone alert sound. I'm a previous BB user and I used BeBuzz but I dnt knw wht to use or look for in the android market.

Are you using the stock messaging app? I don't like the fact that it shows the first part of the message in the notification bar either. Don't think it's possible to switch it off without also losing the vibrate and alert sound.

Try Handcent or ChompSMS - both highly customizable and very highly regarded. Both caused problems with MMS messages for me though so I'm back to stock.

Well tht basically answered my question. Thx. Nt goin to Hav ths phone long tho. The incredible is a great phone but battery and signal SUM! So I ordered the Droid x. Hopefully the droid 2 will come out by the end of the month and I'll try tht one. It's smaller
