The first Fenenc alpha for Android is now available. See the blog post and release notes for more information.
Important notes:
Check the system requirements below. This alpha is available for ARMv7 devices only, and requires Android 2.0 or higher.
If you have installed a pre-release or nightly build of Fennec, you will need to uninstall it before installing the alpha release. This will erase your profile.
Enable installation of non-Market applications in the "Applications" section of the Android settings.
Go to Mozilla.com | Mobile in your phone's browser, and press the "Download Alpha" button.
When the download completes, open it (in the notification bar or the browser's download manager) and press the Install button.

Brothers and Sisters of androidforums, I hereby declare this post of thanks to necosino. Let it be known today that he has answered my question with great promptness and accuracy.
How are you supposed to install that? When I click the link, it tries to download firefox.install and neither my Incredible (w/ Astro) nor my PC knows what to make of it.
I downloaded it right to the phone and it saved it as an .apk. I like Dolphin HD better, this seems cumbersome and weak, and it's slower than hell to load up and then start browsing. I'll be sticking with DHD for now it looks.
I downloaded it to my phone, and when I installed it, I got a "low on space" error. Usually when that happens, and I delete the program that gave me the error, the error goes away. This time it did not, and I am screwed now. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Wait for Froyo? That will open up your SD card for app space.
Try uninstalling, then restarting. That usually fixed it for me when I got this message when I was still on Eclair.
I know this isn't really a solution, but I'm not a developer, so I just do the typical Windows user thing.
Yes, Froyo. I have Skyraider 2.5.2. I will get the message when installing big apps quite frequently, but uninstalling them, deleting them, then restarting the phone always does the trick. This time, the error message is still there.
I don't know what to do!
OK I fixed it, get this: I wad trying everything, and nothing was working. So in desperation, I decided to redownload this .apk. This time, it actually let me install the app. Then, on top of the "low on space" error, I got some sort of low on space SMS error. So at this point, things were getting worse. Then, I moved the app to SD card, uninstalled it, and deleted the download. Problem solved! I don't know why this worked but it did.

Reason: Merged posts
I got it working and yea this is def an alpha build. Its pretty difficult to use let alone test. They have a lot of work to do if they want to match Dolphin.
So far I'm digging it. It's majorly slow and a very large file but it's still just an Alpha release so that's forgivable. I can't wait to try out the Firefox Sync when I get home!
i'm a big fan of firefox as well... i've never downloaded a 3rd party android browser yet but i would download this one when its at least in beta stage.
i do have one question, will this automatically fix itself to the browser button on the froyo launcher? if not would there be a way to do that? i'm not too fond of the stock android browser.

yes, when you hit the browser button it will ask you which browser you want to use and give you the option to set it to default.
Have to agree with majority of posts so far this app has gr8 potential and im a big fan of firefox and thunderbird so prob will be downloading this further thru its development. Few things i noticed at mo is slightly sluggish and zoom functions/landscape are slow to respond but only alpha so not a bad start for now
the .install file is only when you download from PC. Visit the site in your mobile browser and it will download .apk file
(data inside the .install file points to a 404 not found)
also about people saying not enough space, I found that the "Package Installer" program inside settings->manage applications may be taking up many mb of space because the installation for Fennec is around 11mb. you can clear the data and see if that helps.
