Notsure handcent vs htc sms app

I read that handcent was much better than the standard sms app from HTC so downloaded and installed it.... but now I get 2 notifications.
There was a warning about this on the app page and it said to go intoapplications and stop the default message setting but if I'm looking in the right place it doesn't show as default nor allow you to change it.
Any thoughts / help appreciated.

Stewart

Go into Messagin (or whatever HTC calls it), press Menu button and go to Settings. Scroll down to Notifications and uncheck all Notifications there.
