Default Having trouble with ES File Explorer

I've had the E Strong File Explorer for some time but never really used it. So today I wanted to create a special folder for some pictures i downloaded off the web. All the ones I downloaded were put under sdcard/downloads. I created a folder and named it "Cars" and then went to the download folder, copied the pictures, went to the Cars folder and pasted them there. I then think I made a mistake and went to the original pictures in the download folder and deleted them. Now when I open my photo gallery and go to the download folder, i see frames for the pics but no picture. And when I try and open them I just get a black screen. When I go back in the file explorer, I'm able to go to the "cars" folder, click on a picture, choose image from the drop down menu, and then I can view it. So what did I do wrong and is it fixable?

Hi,

your photo gallery didn't index your new folder with pictures.

Use SDrescan (from market) for indexing and you will see your pictures in the photo gallery

Rebooting does the same thing (the system scans the SD on boot-up), but the SDRescan program does the same thing without having to restart. Cool app, and thanks for the tip.

I tried both and still doesn't show in my gallery. Is there any app that's you can organize and make folders for photos?

Another trying:
"fresh up" the pictures with a photo app (PicSay):
Load and save the pictures with PicSay in your folder "Cars".

... and JustPictures is a nice photo gallery
I use it, too.

By the way: The folder "Cars" shouldn't in folder "DCIM".

Yeah neither those ones is really what I'm looking for. What I'm trying to do is organize my pics. Like my car pics all in a folder named "cars" and vacation pics all in a folder "vacations". So when I open my gallery all the pictures are in their respective folders. That was my original idea when I started with the file explorer.

Hmm...not something I've dealt with. The only other thing I've come across so far is this, but it's not highly rated:

I think when you "fresh up" your pictures, as I wrote, you will see your pictures with your own gallery.
Maybe the pictures are corrupted and "fresh up" could help.
