Default Missing Apps
Can anyone find the (real) NY Times app? Or how about an app called Free Caddie?

I received an OTA update on my LG Ally last night, these apps wouldn't work after the update, and I can't find either in the market.

Ok. thanks. THat was short! :-) Could you give me some basic reason why this is? Just seems odd that I can't even find them in the market.

When an update is made to the phone, the "thumbprint" changes. Subsequently, Google has to update their information to allow the new thumbprint access to the protected apps that you are currently unable to access.

Long reason made reasonable short
