I don't know too much about Sense UI, but I prefer Open Home to aHome. My experience with aHome was that it was too unstable, and would always fc. That's just the experience that I had with it. I know people that have aHome and love it. Open Home, IMO, doesn't slow my phone down as much, and there is a lot less lag. Again, everyone's experiences are different.
As far as the Sense UI, I've heard mostly positive things about it.
