Which is the best missed call, text and media message reminder for Droid?
Hello there. I'd like to know which one actually works for Motorola's Droid. I think it should've come standard with the phone, but it didn't. I really need a working app; the two I've installed (Missed Reminder and Missed Call) don't seem to work just as they're supposed to.
I'm willing to pay for it if necessary. Can anyone help, please?
Missed Reminder works great, you must not be setting the settings correctly. What issues you having with missed reminder
On my Droid it keeps on reminding me of a missed call, text or media message even after checking it and clearing out the notification.
It would be so convenient if it indeed worked for my phone, but it doesn't. I've tried to set it up right as well as reinstalling it twice, but nothing worked.
I'm willing to pay for a reminer that actually works on Droid, but I can't find one!!
This should've come standard in the first place, like it does in many cheap phones.
I may not have a droid LOL. Yes I have a Droid and my reminder goes away as soon as check the missed whatever. I use missed reminder along with handcent (which had an update today) with no problems at all. Been using these two apps together with no problems

I'm tired. I may reinstall Missed Reminder for the third time tomorrow. I seriously have tried my best to not mess it up, but it just keeps vibrating after checking whatever I missed...
i have missed call and it works perfect...you need to shut off notifications in SMS and for calls and all that for it to work properly...
duh.
"Shut off notifications in SMS and for calls"? Can you make that clearer to me, please? If you mean checking whatever I missed and clearing off the notification, I've done that.
Missed Call actually only reminds me once that I've missed something, although it's supposed to do it every two minutes.
I installed missed call to use for text reminder. I turned off the sms notification in the factory default text thing, then set this to remind me every 2 minutes. It doesn't remind me unless my screen is on. Like, I can have had the text for 10 minutes and after the first notification, it won't notify again until I put the button at the top to get the screen to come on, then it'll make the text sound again. It works as long as the screen is on. Anyone know what to do about this?

I wish it reminded you of a missed call/message even with screen turned off.
B.T.W., I didn't know how to put my phone type where it says:
Device(s): Droid
But that's obvious in this thread.
Then why haven't you added it to your User details? Click on user cp at the top of this window Edit details then under current devices is a little text box you may not easily see then type in your device.

are you sure Android 2.0 doesn't come with this feature? my MT3G with android 1.6 notifies me of missed calls, text messages, and voicemails in the notification panel; all without the need of a 3rd party app.
I find it hard to believe that they would have removed that feature in 2.0. maybe there's a setting that you just need to check.

congrats, but yeah, obviously it does.
this is to set custom LED colors, Vibrate patterns, reminders etc for each kind of notification.

Yep. Luckily it came with a built-in speaker and mic to make phone calls. No need to downoload them from a third party.
sorry if I misunderstood you guys, but the original post said:

That last sentence just led me to believe that the Droid didn't come with any sort of notification at all.
i cant find "missed call" in the store. this will keep reminding me that i missed a call with "x" minute intervals? where can i get this? this is bugging me!
Did you try Missed Reminder? The comments in the market scared me off but it would be nice to have working.
i havent tried it either. theres a comment that said it kept their phone at 100% awake time. i would probably use less battery if i just checked my phone my self every 5 minutes.
for sms and mms i use SMS popup. its really good. i just want to know if someone has left me a voice mail or if i missed their call.

Putting this in both threads in case others are looking for it. Rick311, let us know how it works for you. I find it to be a bit lacking and somewhat buggy. But, it's an essential feature I need on my phone since I run a business and can't afford to miss calls for extended periods of time. I've been running it for about 3 weeks now for repeating alerts for missed calls and sms. Be sure to disable stock notifications to eliminate duplicate alerts.

First, you'll need to transfer the .apk file to your SD card. There are multiple ways to do this. Easiest is to simply plug the phone into your PC and mount the SD card as a usb device:
To set the phone’s storage card as a USB drive connect the phone to the computer using the USB cable. A notification icon appears in the status bar. Open the Notifications panel. In the Notifications panel, tap USB connected and then tap Mount.
Then you can use the SD card as you would any USB flash drive on the computer. So, now you can create a folder (I called mine "apps") on the SD card and copy the MissedCall_0.8.8.apk into that new directory.
Then you need to install the app on the phone. There are many ways to do this as well. I used Astro File Manager (available for free in the Market). It allows you to view all the contents of your SD card. From there you can just navigate to the saved MissedCall_0.8.8.apk in the apps folder. Click on it and choose to open it with App Manager and Install.
Astro also serves as a task manager. It also has a backup/restore feature for all of your installed apps (I haven't tried this yet). Great app though, I use it often.
Anyway, I hope all that doesn't sound too confusing. I figure more info is better than less. Oh, here's one last thing and it's important. In order to install an app from the SD card, you'll need to go to the main phone Settings--->Applications--->Unknown Sources and check the box (allow install of non-Market applications).

this worked VERY well! i appreciate the help here! thanks again!
I am having the same problem, Android Inspire. I downloaded and used "missed reminder" but that is not what I am looking for. The above app was just annoying, beeping continuously. I know it can be set to whatever you want, but it is just not what I am looking for. My previous phone listed 2 missed calls, 1 new voicemail, 4 new text messages, etc. when I unlocked the phone. That is what I want. I realize it has the VERY SMALL icon on the top taskbar with a message icon, but something a little more NOTIFYING, would be very cool.

Missed call reminder work for me. ALthough I noticed that as Ace say for missed phone calls remaider is keep remainding even if I remove missed call from tab. To remove reminder I have to look into call history. Ace you can track it and debug it by going into app and look at first line "quick stop" it has numbers which mean amount of reminders in each category. You can use this also to clear them all if everything else fails.
Check out Missed Message Flasher. It worked first time for me and the reviews are pretty positive on the Market. I couldn't get Missed Call Reminder to work on my Razr.
I use Light Flow to control my missed message reminders and to control my LED notifications. It works great, and is very detailed as to what can be controlled. For example, for each application you can set if you want a reminder, how long to wait between reminders and how long to have it remind you (up to 24 hours). You can also set how the reminder is dismissed. You can set ringtone reminders and vibrate reminders separately, which means if you wanted you could have a reminder play a sound every minute, but vibrate every 5 minutes.
The app is $1.99, but there is a free version that handles your core applications such as missed call, missed sms, missed mms, missed e-mail. So, I would try the free version first to make sure it works correctly for your phone.
One thing to know is that Light Flow takes over complete control over your notification LED. So, if you're running the free version, and the free version doesn't include an app that you are running that uses LED notifications... that app won't light the LED. All application LEDs must be controlled through Light Flow. So, you'll probably need to end up buying the paid version. Once you install the app, the settings menu has a list of all of the applications it supports, so you can make sure all of your apps are supported before you buy.
