I was searching for good camera apps and didn't come across vignette...
Then I was searching for something like instagram and looked at picplz and vignette..
Turns out Vignette is not only the best camera app (for my atrix) and has exposure control, but it has a lot of instagram like filters and borders and looks really really nice and professional!

Or you can wait 2 weeks for the Instagram for Android app coming out from the same people who make Instagram now. (They open-sourced the code, so you can even write your own app!)
Not to say that Vignette is bad! It's great, just really slooow on anything 600MHz or less.

Okay guys, you may want to check out LIGHTBOX http://www.lightbox.com which has already raised 1.1 million in seed funds. Now, that alone is impressive and sounds more professional and bent on taking instagram heads-on than anything else. Also, check out one of the reviews I came across here at Techcrunch

Mytubo
I'm playing with mytubo lately which looks like Instagram, has hashtag searching (which PicPlz does not), no ads, follow friends, etc. I keep hearing rumors of Instagram coming to Android, but I'm thinking they have no interest in this market at all, at least not while there still iphoners to get on board. I think we'll see instagram eventually, but its going to be quite awhile.

Lightbox is the best I've found so far. I had picPlz but uninstalled after several force closes. You have the option of just uploading on Lightbox, which I do (as opposed to uploading to twitter or facebook via lightbox webpage), then I upload the saved picture from my phone into a facebook folder.
Ive been looking for an equivalent to Instagram, and I think Ive found a good one. Try Snaptastic. Its still in Beta, but works really well. There is also a free version.
Try looking into InstaPics, it's an android version of Instagram and developed using Instagram API. You need Instagram credentials to login in and it has most of the basic features of Instagram iPhone app.
I would love Instagram to come to Andriod, but whilst it's not I'm using MyTubo.
It's a mixture of Social Networking and Photography.
You can take pictures and edit or select from your phone albums. The pictures can uploaded to Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr and others.
Great effects, and the app is updated regular so the effects increase and get better.
You can chat to people, follow other users, hashtag pictures, search members/hashtags/star pictures.
Very easy to use... love it. x
Do you know of any apps similar to Instagram that are supported by Twitter? Like you said, it's a real turn-off...
Unfortunately no I don't, What I've ended up doing is using Pixlr-o-matic to apply the effects etc and then just uploading to twitter. Looks decent enough.

It doesn't? Oh well, I use Tweetdeck anyway. I just realized I haven't seen Twitter itself in over a year.
Tweetdeck is probably the worst of all the twitter clients, hasn't been updated in months, No its nice when scrolling through you can see a preview picture in the twitter time line and decide whether you want to view the full image, saves you having to open every god damn picture link you see.

If you're referring to Tweetdeck for Android, Twitter has quite annoyingly pulled the plug on their Tweetdeck mobile apps, however, someone has released an app called Tweakdeck which is their own updated version. If you love Tweetdeck, I urge you to check it out.
I still believe Tweetdeck (and now Tweakdeck) is the best app for android.

I must digress though. that I find Tweetdeck my favorite. I've circled through several Twitter clients and none gives me the features I need apart from Tweetdeck in a format I like. Or maybe because I use Tweetdeck on the PC that I like it better. LOL.
Personally I don't let the lack of updates for an app trouble me. Why fix something that aint broken? Take a look at Launcher Pro.
If you really want that preview, you'd just have to wait it out then. Oh wait, Hootsuite has an option to open all links within the app, but for some reason I don't like that client very much.

Several filters to choose from!
I've used less of different ones, including picplz and lightbox. And by far the best was lightbox. It has a wide range of filters and allows you to share to facebook, twitter, flickr and tumblr. It also has a great ui an allows you to get involved in it's own online community.

I tried to compile a list of the apps mentioned above, some of the apps I had a look at before downloading and saw that reviews weren't exactly spectacular (incl. picplz), so I didn't download them but these are the ones that I have downloaded:
1. mytubo
2. Vignette Demo
3. Lightbox
I ranked them in order of most to least liked. I think both mytubo and Vignette are both very good however, mytubo is much more user friendly and great for people who just want to take nice photos without fiddling around with too many settings. Mytubo has 18 different effects and some basic editing options (e.g crop, border...etc). The photos automatically have their corner's taken off, like that rounded corner effect you see with Instagram. It has adequate online photo sharing options i.e. you can share your photos on the most common online communities i.e. FB, Twitter, Tumblr, Flickr.
Vignette is also very good and you can share your photos on pretty much every app you have on your phone that has a photosharing function (which is a plus over mytubo if you want to share photos through the communities not mentioned above). It has A LOT of settings and for those of you who like tweaking photos then this is probably better for you...although I have to say, it's actually a little confusing to use but I think you will get the hang of it if you play around with it.
Lightbox has a pretty simple layout and like mytubo it also has 18 different effects and basic editing options. One massive negative I have to mention though, is that when you take a photo there is a slight lag time from when you tap the screen and when the photo is taken...so you need to hold the camera still (it actually looks like it takes a photo initially because the screen freezes on the image but you need to hold the phone still for another second or so when it actually takes the photos...took me a little while to realise this; kept getting blurry pics).
Anyway, this is just my view, so I highly recommend you download these apps and try them for yourself to see which you like best (you can always delete them after if you don't like them).
However, since this is a thread for an instagram equivalent, I would say that the photos taken with mytubo look the most like Instagram photos. The effects options seem quite similar to the polaroid-like, vintage look of Instagram photos plus the automatic rounded corners of the photo is similarly also very like Instagram.
I'm very surprised no one has mention Camera360. I've tried tons of Android filter apps, and Camera360 takes the cake without any doubt. I've tried Vignette, Lightbox, Streamzoo, Retro Camera, etc. However, when it comes down to it, Camera360 is extremely easy to use, and there are tons of filters to apply! Vignette gives the user more control over their photos, but that is just because you select each individual effect you want to go onto your photo. Note, that most combinations look pretty bad, and it's more about finding combinations that work. Because I didn't want to spend hours upon hours of randomly assigning effects that might work well together, I went with Camera360. All the filters are presets that have thumbnails in the lower portion of the screen (like Instagram, but are of the actual picture and not of some tree). Also, when you put the filter on the picture, if you touch the picture with your finger, it will show the original. VERY useful feature, in order to see what exactly your filter is doing to the photo. Now that Instagram is out, I think the top two Android filter apps are Camera360 and Instagram. In my opinion, I still think Camera360 is better than Instagram. You have somewhere from 3-4 times the amount of filters, don't have to join some dumb social networking site, and the pictures are in higher resolution. After all, the choice is yours which app you choose, but give Camera360 a shot, and you'll see what I'm talking about.

One very simple workaround: Open your camera app, take a picture, tap on share, select lightbox.
